Just returned from dinner. It was worst experience from start. After usual wait since ordering main course, they started serving main course, forgetting completely about the entree ordered 30 min ago. The owner said sorry and added they will pack sweet dishes as an apology, then completely forgot. The Veg dishes ordered 4 hours in advance were tasteless, worst across all Indian restaurants, Shahi checken was equally tasteless and top it all paranthas were actually naan bread!.
Overall it was worst experience from a to z. Will strongly recommend to stay away!
Response from Management:
Its 12:34 am. I just returned from the restaurant was expecting a review online from Mr. Surendra Agarwal and here it is.The fact is I have never experienced such a rude behavior from any body.
Yes we did make a mistake it was just a human error. We gave you all the options but you were not ready to listen. I personally took care of your dietry requirements. And when we offered you the entrees and desserts you simply denied.
We tried our level best to please you and make it up to you but you were stuck up and just not ready to listen.

Very delightful experience. Food was very flavoursome and different to other Indian restaurants. Will definitely be back and recommend to others. Well done Bayleaf team...

We've had dinner here few days ago and overall we didn't enjoy the experience. While the place looks elegant, and the service was very friendly, unfortunately, the food didn't rise to the same level.
The butter chicken was watery and lacked taste, The prawn curry was over salted, and the entrees were pretty average. They are a bit pricey as well which I wouldn't mind if the food was good.

Always great and delightful. Never had a bad meal at Bayleaf. Love the new and innovative dishes. Their cooking classes exceptional.

Restaurant looks were presentable, Staff very friendly and pleasant, but food awful... I been to so many Indian restaurants but never eaten curry watery,
Food looks like so kitchen hand might made it as doesn't look or taste chefs hand or may the chef don't know what is he doing... Waste of money as this restaurant is not cheap they charge $16-$19 for mains.
Totally Disappointed :-(

It was my first time in here, the first glimps of this place looks good. We had couple of curries with breads. The curries were extremely blands and are out of taste. I've been to akis and the famous nilgiris but here food was extremely of low quality. I'm sorry to say that but that's true. Breads were bit hard to chew. Service seems to be fine but not enough. Mate, I'm not a risk taker so hope (not) to see you again.

I've been here twice and have enjoyed both meals very much. I felt all the food I tried was very tasty. I think its pricey compared to other Indian restaurants, I spent $70 on food for 2 people and was comfortably full whereas that usually has me rolling out of most other Indian restaurants. That aside, the staff are attentive and very friendly.
The 2nd visit we sat in the back room which I felt had a much better atmosphere than the front room. I will be back, already booked a cooking class and want to try out their buffet!
December 2012 - We went back for their "Bollywood" cooking class. It is more of a cooking demonstration as their chef does all of the cooking. Having said that we really enjoyed how personal it was only a group of 6 so we could ask lots of questions.
As usual their staff were lovely. Still continue to recommend this place for nice wholesome indian cooking.

My boss brought me some lunch time takeaway from the restaurant. This was the first time we ordered from Bayleaf and both of us got amazed. We spent about 11 dollars each and we were very full. I ordered butter chicken and my boss ordered some very spicy curry (dont know the name). They all came with rice and naan. Absolutely delicious, very good choice for lunch.

We visited Bayleaf on a Saturday evening with a Spreet voucher which gave us $60 worth of food for only $29. The food quality is miles above the average Indian meal in Sydney. We loved the beetroot and kumera patties, the palak paneer (I am pretty sure that they make the paneer themselves, awesome!) and the subz kofte. Service was impeccable, attentive and pleasant. We will definitely return to try the Sunday buffet as well as to work our way through the menu. Highly recommended!

WOW! I'm a Crow's Nest local and I'd walked past this place a few times and always wanted to try it. I'm so glad I did! From the wonderful aroma and tantalising specials board out the front (not to mention their amazing prices and the fact that I suspect they own the incredible Indian Spice shop next door!) I suspected I might be on to a winner, but I couldn't be sure until I tried it out! For some reason, I only got around to going there recently. I think their location in a dingy little mall down the far end of Crow's Nest's restaurant district can mean they get overlooked.
But I urge anyone looking for incredible Indian cuisine, amazing value, lovely ambience and fantastic service to rush past all the other Indian places in Crow's Nest and come straight to Bayleaf! I've tried them all... (literally all the Indian places in Crow's Nest and many in the surrounding suburbs and this beats them hands down in all areas... except maybe ambience due to being in a crappy mall but it's by no means poor in that area! Quite lovely in fact once you're in there!)... they really are a hidden jewel in the heart of Crow's Nest...
I've often found that some of the most unexpected places have the most amazing food. And this is certainly one of them. Don't let it's location in a tiny shopping mall deter you! Once you step inside, you're in a gorgeous little restaurant filled with the aroma of authentic Indian spices and served by attentive, well-informed waiters who are clearly passionate about their cuisine yet are not pushy or intrusive in any way. Our experience for the lunch time Thali selection (incredible value at $14 for a selection of curries that come with papadums, naan and three curries of either meat, vegetable or seafood - amazing!) was awesome. We couldn't believe how authentic and delicious and fresh the food was, how much we were given and how cheap it was!
My fiance's a big eater and he barely managed to finish his meal. And for $14! Crazy! The only other places I've been to with equal value were out west... Nowhere I have found on the North Shore offers this kind of quality and value. I'm a self confessed foodie and have ridiculously high standards when it comes to food: so I really hope you take my word for it and try this place!
If you like "out of the jar", generic-tasting, greasy/oily, Westernised Indian food perhaps this place is not your cup of tea... but if you love the real deal come try Bayleaf! You won't regret it!
