It's often hard to find a decent place that will cater to a group of more than 10 diners, but this place does it with such ease. There were 15 of us for dinner on a Saturday night and even though it took us a while to finally decide what to order, the wait staff were very friendly and patient. The food came out with no hiccups and it was all delicious, there was no complaint from any of us. I ordered the Bavarian Tasting plate which was very affordable at $25, the pork belly was perfect, the sausages were tasty and I can't fault the schnitzel.
We could have all sat there for a few hours, chatting away and drinking more beer if we didn't have somewhere to go. The staff looked pretty tired by about 9pm and I can't blame them really as they were constantly moving, whether it be serving beer and food or attending to customer's needs. They really should be applaud on how they work the floor and handle everything, this is not to say it is perfect but with so many things to do and various customers to attend to, they come pretty close! I'd definitely go back here again, for the great service and especially for the pork belly!
Great building, great staff - food is over priced though and the noise is just too much. Overrated venue really. That said, the beer is good, although I'd probably just buy it from the bottle shop instead of going here specifically for it. Disappointing.
I love the Swiss schnitzel! Wonderful place for a work lunch - very buzzy atmosphere. Dessert took a while though but it was very nice. Service was standard but they were very busy.
I went here after a boardroom meeting with some colleagues. Nice beer, very nice Spaaten on tap. Disappointed with the 5 beer special. Where you get to try 5 different beers at once. The dark wheat beer was probably the downpoint of the whole night, and everyone else with me agreed. Mixed drinks and spirits aren't really something they do really well, nonetheless they have a wide selection of beer.
Don't like the hanging beer glass thing with the hooks above the bar, just doesn't do it for me aesthetically. We shared two food platters. A few too many sausages for my liking, but veal schnitzel was delicious and full of taste. I couldn't work out how to eat the mash potato on the platter without a fork, I mean come on? Toothpicks can't pickup mash potato for consumption. It doesn't work. Otherwise not too bad. A 'work' like atmosphere all up, not bad prices.
If you're looking for a bavarian date, don't come here, seating isn't correct for a date or even comfortable. A good place to go for a few beers after work, to celebrate not in style or chic, but in modesty and rewarding hard work for your employees.
Tried the Bavarian Platter on a recommendation, very nice if you're unsure on what to eat, a bit of everything. You might think the beer prices are a little steep, but a stein of bavarian beer can tide you over for quite a while. Try the mango flavoured beer.
We had been wanting to try this place but after the few reviews on eatability, I was skeptical! However, one rainy Friday night we decided to give it a go. Unfortunately, the previous posts on here are all true. The food was cold and had been pre-cooked, god knows how many hours earlier. I also found it overpriced for what it actually was. It was scary watching the movement in the kitchen i.e. there did not seem to be anyone actually cooking!
Everything was ready to go in bain maries!!! Except for the burgers, they would probably be OK or the frozen chips and wedges. So if thats all you're after with one of their great beers, no problem. I would avoid the actual meals at all costs!!
Ambience nice and the refreshments on offer are quite tasty. Will not be eating any food from here again. What come out right the first time was either re heated or fried too much. Our meals were sent back and when brought out half right they were stone cold and not cooked properly - a let down for such a nice venue.
This bar has a great ambience about it with a great selection of beers and wine to suit most taste buds. I will continue to drink here, but never again order food. We paid $36 for a platter that was barely big enough for one. Really disappointed.
Excellent place, looks great.. excellent service( the waitresses are very efficient, friendly and helpful). The food is also great if you really need to satisfy your hunger, then eat the Lowenschnitzel. Huge schnitzel, pretty hard to finish it by yourself. The biers are also great and they have an offer of free non alcoholic bier for designated drivers in groups of 5 or more. Excellent place. Highly recommend it! Around 22-32 for a Main.
I love this place - good food, good beer, what more do you need. I'm not sure how authentic the food is, but it's always satisfying. Start with a half litre of beer in that amazing main bar or mezzanine - I love how attentive and efficient the staff are (although I still don't understand how they can be out of some beers... that's the main thing!).
I fell in love with the deep fried camembert - must have if it's on the menu. Schnitzels are massive. I had the tasting plate that had schnitzel, pork belly and an assortment of sausages - highly recommended. Love this place - casual dining, fun drinks after work, loads of space and people.
