Excellent lunch here recently on a busy Sunday. The service was exceptional. Helpful waiter who took time to explain dishes we enquired about and also recommended a few for us. All other staff very helpful as smiling as well. The spring rolls were great, as was the Vietnamese pancake, BBQ pork and chicken (BBQ is a specialty). Spicy pork noodle soup was also very tasty. The place is very comfortable and better ambience than many other restaurants around here. I'll be back.
I started off going to Bau Truong at Canley Heights on numerouns occasions and still prefer the CH location due to ease of parking. But the Cabramatta branch has captured a good share of the ultra competitive Vietnamese food market.
Pho is good so is their savoury pancake (banh xeo). Other things that I have tried and recommended is Bun bo hue (spicy pork noodle soup), prawn and crab noodle soup and their broken rice is also good.
Don't expect much of an ambience - think of it as a pit stop for good. Walk in, order, eat, pay and walk out. But as mentioned by other reviewers it does have modern feel to it unlike other Vietnamese outlets. Service is usually with a smile.
Ate here on a Tuesday nigh, the place was not very busy and we had exceptional service. We were not sure what to order so asked for advice. We had the pork and taro spring rolls and a sensational beef salad, both are highly recommended.
For mains we had the BBQ platter, which contained chicken, pork and beef, all cooked beautifully and just the right amount of "smoke", and the second main was the steamed perch with ginger, which was filleted at the table for me by the staff and was cooked very well.
We found the decor and ambience above many other places in the area and as such would have no hesitation in recommending this place. A very good experience.
Over several years, I've been looking intermittently for a great Vietnamese place in Cabramatta, and finally found it today. Note though, it's now located at 42 JOHN STREET (not in the arcade at 70 John St). Sensationally fresh salads and cold rolls make this place a cut above the usual fried food eateries. Service is brisk, yet friendly, and the surroundings are clean and pleasant, too.
Seems to be a popular place with a nice interior which is not what you normally get in Cabramatta. The food though was nice but no better than the other places in Cabramatta.
I only went here once to grab a takeaway of Fresh Spring Rolls but it was really nice and worth the price. Service can be improved but since it was takeaway I guess it didn't matter as much.
This is a regular haunt of mine and has been for a couple of years. The food is delicious with a very extensive menu, it covers many traditional Vietnamese dishes. The flavours are fresh - the hallmark of real Vietnamese. The Pho and Bun are some of the best I have had anywhere, including in Vietnam. While the restaurant can be cramped when busy and the service is rushed and rough, this gives you the feel of an authentic Vietnamese restaurant. You definitely get value for your money with very reasonable prices and good size meals. I highly recommend this restaurant.
We were there last Sunday and really enjoyed the food and drinks they have. They have very nice avocado, custard apple, durian and other fruit juices. The food rocks and value for $
The noodle soups are great. Try the 'bo kho' (beef and carrot stew with lots of condiments) or 'hu tieu'. Also the sugar cane rolled in crab meat is absolutely delicious.
