Overview of Bathers' Pavilion Restaurant

The Restaurant is at the northern end of the Pavilion with views across the shark net towards the Heads (the cafe is at the Southern end). The restaurant is an impressive affair in a warm setting with impeccable food and service to match the stunning view. The interior is modern, styling and yet there is still a warmth and cosiness to it. The emphasis is on fresh produce grown by small producers.

Delicious. Great food, impeccable service. Went here for a special occasion and you can see why it's pricey. There is certainly a big difference between service and food and Bathers.. and service and food at your average restaurant. I'd definitely recommend it - only wish I could eat here more often!

Went there for a special occasion and certainly walked away feeling like we'd had a treat. Even on a wet and wild autumn, this restaurant looks and feels so appealing. Everybody in our party of six felt that they had ordered the best dish- every plate was a winner.

Perhaps, the only disappointment was the service- a little on the morose side but this could just be a young man having a bad day.

Yes, it's not cheap but the food and experience is well worth it. I'm already looking forward to going back.

Great Restaurant and Great Views of Balmoral beach. I dined there for first time last saturday night after much anticipation and having being recommended by friends and colleagues alike.

My wife started with the cauliflower soup and I had the poached quail, both great starters. I had the barramundi and pancetta for a main, the pernod sauce perfectly matched the fish, my wife had the venison dish, she raved about it ! We then had a little break before dessert before we chose to share the menage a trois chocolate dessert. Was most disappointed of what should have been a great finish to a divine dinner. The vanilla anglaise was sickly sweet and the chocolate most bitter or maybe gone off .. definitely not the same quality as everything else we tried.

Will still recommend bathers to my colleagues and friends, but will take note to have their desserts elsewhere maybe ice cream at home a better option.

An impressive restaurant with an equally impressive wine cellar. Presentation of all dishes was immaculate on further inspection and taste, again of an extremely high standard. It was good to see ingredients like rabbit and great mushrooms along side the more obvious Modern Australian and Asian fusion selections. If any downside to the food I found the rabbit a little overcooked but still very tasty, my fellow diners were all very impressed with their choices.

All the staff were very knowledgeable on the menu and wines, although at times I found them a little unattentive. Overall a very good first impression, I would love to go back for an earlier sitting to admire the spectacular view there. Obviously in the higher price range but still value for money on quality alone.

I'm always hearing about Bathers from my parents, so was about time I tried it after all their good comments. We went over on a Saturday night and I can sum it up as an absolute taste sensation!

We had the goats cheese cappalletto and scallop entrees, the lamb and venison mains and trio of chocolate for dessert and oh my goodness the flavours were beautiful and so well put together in all dishes.

Our waitress was great, always around when we needed her.

It's a pricey night but well worth it for a special treat!

Had a lovely Sunday lunch in the restaurant - shared it with the a wedding party in the next room, a fussy table of 10 next to us as well as a number of assorted children that got underfoot - which accounts for the sluggish, lacks adaisical service. Our 3 courses took just under 3 hours, and along with wine, cost approx. $150 per head.

My entree was goat cheese cappalletto with anchovy, fennel and parmesan - fancy name for 3 ravioli filled with feta cheese, and surprisingly bland and rubbery. Way too much pasta and too subtle a flavour. Friends did crab salad, oysters and quail dish - these were all better as well as bigger portions, and more interesting.

For main, I had the lamb which was exquisite and melted in the mouth. My friends had the snapper (7/10), cod (5/10 - strangely meaty), and the barra (8/10).

The dessert I had was AMAZING - chocolate menage a trois - as orgasmic as the name implies. Super-moist self-saucing souffle, mousse, and a dark chocolate and cherry slice that was sublime. Book ahead and bring your wallet. I would love to try again at dinner, sans beach blowflies.

Oh how the mighty have fallen! I've always loved Bathers but was sadly disappointed last time I went. The food was still superb although the portion sizes have shrunk significantly. The chef kindly worked around my food allergies but the staff were less accommodating. The staff were the real issue - they forgot to order 2 of our groups' mains (leaving them sitting while we all ate for 15 mins); they ordered the wrong deserts for almost everyone; they took our wine order but forgot to bring the wine etc etc. It's the perfect location and too good food to be ruined by careless staff...lift your game guys.

Went to Bathers for a special occasion for my wife and myself. The service was terrible since I asked for the lamp to be lit three times and my orders for drinks were not promptly attended to even when I reminded the wait staff. Another impression was that the tables were close to each other and the wait staff were overworked. The food was small in portions and excellent in quality although the price was very expensive especially given the poor service and crowded and noisy ambience. Whilst the views of the beach were nice, I won't be returning for any more special occasions at Bathers Pavilion.

Yet another birthday celebration. We were running very late (1 hour) as the car broke down. We called up and it was no problem. They kept our table for us even though it was busy. Food was very tasty and staff very friendly.
