Overview
Basil Pizza and Pasta was established in November 2006 with the intention of creating a wide range of delicious pizzas and meals that are suited the diverse feel of Newtown and surrounding suburbs. We have achieved this primary goal!
We cater to our eclectic customer base by offering a fantastic selection of meat and vegetarian pizzas and pastas as well as offering true vegan pizzas for home delivery, take-away or eat-in.
Basil Pizza and Pasta has a friendly and inviting atmosphere that is suited to business lunches, families, students, celebrating or just enjoying a great night out with friends.
We also now offer gluten free pizzas!

I have visited Basil a few times with friends and we have always been impressed with not only the quality of the food but the price as well. It is a humble and modestly presented restaurant which is tasteful but comfortable with friendly and polite service.
My companions ordered the Pasta Marinara which was generous in flavour and size - (so much he couldn't finish it!). Another of my friends is lactose intolerant and unable to eat wheat based products and we were excited to have the choice from a menu which suited her dietary requirements.
I have always ordered the Zorba pizza as the lamb is so tender and the flavours are unique... Yum! If you visit Newtown I'd absolutely recommend a visit to Basil!

I have only ever been to the restaurant once, but it has definitely left a lasting impression, one which will convince me to return again. The food was absolutely exquisite, and the service was second to none. The waitresses had impecable customer service with a friendly outgoing attitude which heightened my dining experience.
I would definitely recommend that this restautrant is great for any social event as it has such a versatile atmosphere. Definitely a great place for everyone, for fine food and fun.

The service at Basil's was fantastic. I ordered a takeaway pizza and was in and out in under 10 minutes. The range of toppings is fantastic, something to suit everyone. And the pizza chef was more than happy to make a recommendation on pizza for me, as I couldn't decide! Would definitely go there again! Will eat in next time as seems like a nice place!

Terrible service. Took more than an hour and a half for delivery and pizza was lukewarm and chewy. No apology offered when asked why it had taken so long!

We had a terrible experience with Basil Pizza. We were regular customers, but will not give them our business again. They made us wait 3 hours for our pizza (whilst we're at home) and when we called to see why it was taking so long they said the driver came and no one was home and that it was "too much hassle" for them to bring us the pizza that we had ordered hours ago. I'm extremely disappointed with their poor customer service and I don't think that their pizzas are that good that they can warrant being so rude to customers!

Sorry, the pizza's are not good quality and the pasta's was awful. The taste of the sauce had a very strong (not subtle) herby taste which made the dish unsavory. Would never go back.

I have had a number of dinners at Basil, either alone or for a party. The versatilty of this place is great. As great as the food and the staff. Feels like you are a part of the family when you come here for dinner.

Get sometime (during the week) for some pasta /pizza dishes with friends, and we find them pretty good. The pasta dishes have a nice taste though they sound classic on the menu. They also have some weekly salads which are nice.

I stopped by for a spaghetti sicilliana. I took a while to come out but it was very yummy. I'll be back for takeaway.

I regularly order the Tuscany pizza, it is absolutely fantastic. The people who work there are very friendly, and the service is very quick. The setting is comfortable and relaxed, but not beautifully decorated like some of the other restaurants on King St.
