A nice mix of Thai and Vietnamese. Can recommend the Vietnamese Hot & Sour soup with chicken, a large ball crammed with meat and vegies for around $10. Crying Tiger was moist and the pork was soft and juicy. Only the roast duck was a bit of a letdown. The service was friendly and they allow BYO.
We dined here in July 2008 midweek. The service was very friendly. The food is a mixture of Thai and Vietnamese, and was really quite sensational in the flavours. It was very quiet on the night we dined there, I recall just one or 2 other tables, which gave the place an empty feeling initially, but we were very glad we tried it out, and will definitely be back. Great value!
Promising..... but it ain't just there yet, and they are going to have work harder on the food if they want to lure punters over to the "wrong" side of Military Road (as attested by a near-empty restaurant on a recent Friday night). The space and the service is lovely, but the food is inconsistent, with only 1 out of 3 dishes ordered meeting our expectations and taste. Mind you, that one is worth going back for, the campfire beef was a beauty, tender, spicy beef, just sensational rolled up in rice paper with lettuce and fresh herbs.
But why only offer 4 rice papers with a portion that clearly merits twice that? While we were happy to continue eating it with rice, it was at its best as the whole package. A chicken satay was uninspired (more like an RSL club version) as was a green papaya and prawn salad, where the flavour (or lack thereof) and watery, opaque appearance of the prawns seemed to indicate their recent escape from the deep freeze.
Portions of everything were abundant but whats the point if the food doesn't get you interested enough to keep eating? I would be willing to give it another go, but will only choose dishes recommended by other reviewers in the hope of finding some other gems to compare with the campfire beef!

This place is awesome! Having moved to the north a while ago we have only just discovered this little gem. It just gets better and better with every visit. Food is always fresh and very tasty. Service is spot on, food comes out fast and Janette is a wonderful host. Price is about on par with all other Thai/Asian restaurants in the area.
So happy to have found a great Vietnamese restaurant in my own neighbourhood. Food was great, friendly staff and most of all I feel very much at home!! My favourite dishes were their Signature dish of "Basil & Mint" Pancake and "Basil & Mint Hot & Sour Soup! Highly recommended to those who long for authentic Thai and Vietnamese food.
Love this place! The food and service are terrific, the welcome is always friendly - genuinely so, not just smoothly "professional" - and the surroundings stylish. What more could one ask?
I went today for lunch. We got to wait 30 minutes to get the food. A bit slow. The food was good, we choose the signature dish, Beef butter and pepper. The staff is friendly. I will recommend to do take aways if they're going to take 30 minutes to serve the food.
Went on a thursday night, restaurant was a bit quiet. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The menu had a good variety of meals, had the favourites plus dishes I hadn't seen in other Thai/Malay places. I had the signature basil and mint duck and was wonderful. Desserts were mainly sticky rice and ice cream varieties, so consider going elsewhere for dessert. Slightly pricier than other Thai places in the area but worth it.
