They should get bonus points for being so fabulous about kids! Seriously, not many places are happy to feed your screaming kids and then clean up after them! The food is pretty good. A little pricey for what you get, but with views like that who cares, the rent would be killer I'm sure!

Went here for dinner with a friend from out of town. The view is great. The service was friendly, they didn't rush us. The food was good, but as a previous poster said I would go here for a nice dinner rather than lunch as some of the menu is quite expensive for more basic meals. I had a chicken pesto pasta dish which was tasty and a good size. Reasonably priced wine list. I'd go back.

Went to Barzura, had been avoiding it after some terrible service previously. Sat down, admired the view and ordered a coffee. All good! Then one of the waitresses came over and told us we couldn't sit there with a pram because it was dangerous, hang-on, we'd been there 15 minutes. No offer of a new table, just a waitress saying we couldn't sit there. The waitress then followed it up with 'what do you want then?'. We promptly left, really disappointing to see them trading on a great outlook but ruining it with atrocious service.

Perfect place for a sunny morning brunch. The coffee is pretty good and the staff are always friendly.

Mmmm one of my favourite places to eat in Coogee, the service is always divine, the waitstaff are amazingly friendly and they always remember their usual customers as the couple behind me were greeted by name and the waitress enquired after their children.

The food is always impeccable, the rigatoni is one of my favourites and breakfast is always smashing. I'd go elsewhere for lunch, only because its fairly expensive for basic lunch meals that you could find at other, less pricey establishments, but breakfast and dinner are a must if you are willing to spend a little.

Great standard of food, wonderful location right by the beach. Particularly love breakfast there and the chicken schnitzel sandwich for lunch. Sounds basic but is mind-blowing!

I went there last week during by uni break for lunch with some friends. I usually go to Barzura for breakfast and the set out of place has a warm and friendly feel to it. I had the mi goreng, which was perfectly cooked and reasonable size. My friends, who had the salt and pepper squid and the schnitzel found the food to be well cooked and quite tasty.

The only concern is the price. It was a bit expensive (about 20$), but from all the other waterfront cafes and restaurants that I've been to previously, it was nothing out of the ordinary.

My husband and I eat here fairly often. It's nothing mind blowing but it serves reasonable food in a pleasant atmosphere. We live nearby, we probably wouldn't come here if we weren't local. It probably is overpriced due to location but it's nice to have the view/sound of the sea if you're eating outside.

Food seems to be hit and miss, my cousin had a fish chowder which was surprisingly bland, but I have had some tasty dishes including their white fish (can't remember exactly which) in a buerre blanc sauce. I also remember the puddings being very tasty, including a very yummy banoffee pie. Coogee has plenty of nice cafes serving the same thing but very little in the way of restaurants.

I agree with a previous reviewer commenting that this was the best of a poor choice of places to eat. I have mixed feelings writing this review, we will probably go back often and have many more very pleasant evenings but if we move away from the area we probably wouldn't bother coming back to this restaurant. If you live in the area it's definitely worth a try!

Went here for mid week dinner last week. We live locally and generally avoid Coogee dining. We were surprised. The fish meal was beautifully cooked and the service was good too. My partner had a steak and he said it was fantastic. When the local pubs (eg. The Palace) are charging their prices it is worth checking this out.

    Updated November 2010:
My steak had been frozen! Not happy at all and I'm sure it might have been veal. It was tasteless. The location of course is still fantastic and the weekly specials look good. Not happy!
