Too much hype about this place. They don't have a great breakfast menu and the food I ordered was average. Most people seem to order coffee here only and the coffee I had was ordinary also. Looks more like a place to be seen rather than a place of quality food and coffee. Don't come here if you're after a nice relaxing breakfast.
I have been going here since 2002. Great coffee and snacks, excellent and friendly staff who know the names and coffee preferences of regulars as you walk in. Love the ambience and the grunge of the place that has developed over the 50+ years it has been around. A wonderful location to blow an hour or two reading the papers and sit there people spotting.
The one and only Coluzzi, the institution of the Kings Cross/Darlo caffe scene. Regardless of barista or the time of the day Coluzzi perform and create the ultimate coffee experience. This place can only be described as original and unique and the reputation they poses is certainly of the highest standard. Some things don't change and the coffee at Coluzzis is still great and vibrant.
I haven't been to the original Darlo hq in quite a while, but, assuming it's a sister establishment, I feel it only just to warn patrons off the highly-visible international terminal outlet, at Sydney airport. While the coffee was quite good, the attitude to service was as bad as it gets: rude; arrogant; dismissive; careless; cynical; unapologetic. Having tried to capitalise on my bleary-eyed early morning start, by significantly overcharging, the manager couldn't so much as stutter sorry and didn't even trouble himself to refund the correct amount; ie. I was still shortchanged. The pancakes were dry. It's at the airport, so, my advice: take off! Sometimes even Maccas looks good.
Very popular cafe owned by a Greek family. The staff of 4 young blokes are very friendly and humourous, create a great atmosphere and coffee experience.
