A really great family restaurant. The hand made Spring Rolls are to die for. Generally the food is as good as you would expect. Very friendly staff and Ibby sings up a storm on the karaoke. If you like oysters, plan ahead and order their huge oysters in the shell.

I'm always bemused by those individuals who can single out and identify individual ingredients from a course! Do they take a mini chemistry set with to a restaurant!
I don't know how anyone can identify MSG in food (and by the way it's actually a product that derived from seaweed).

The effects of MSG are particularly noted in the hypothalamus and temporal lobes of the brain. These are the parts of the brain which control such body functions as: behavior, emotions, immunity, the sleep cycle, hormones, puberty and short-term memory to name a few.

Then again so does alcohol! And from what we experienced last night, I'm absolutely 100% sure that it wasn't MSG stirring up those brave enough to face the Karaoke Machine! So what's all this ranting about, quite simple really.

Don't get so hung up about the ingredients of a course. If you're enjoying it then carry on eating. If you don't like MSG in particular, then what the dickens are you doing sitting in a Chinese Restaurant! The food is a great standard and some of the old favourites certainly need revisiting when dining here! I guess sometimes we stray too far away from basics and become bitter and twisted when there's no garnish on the plate!

I agree with a former critic in that you do need to keep your eye on the change being returned! Pity really as the staff are all very pleasant and will genuinly try to make your experience a good one. I'd recommend the Fillet Steak Chinese Style and the Mongolian Lamb! (How's that for an old favourite, but seriously it's very flavoursome!). The Lemon Chicken made me smile when it came out, but it went down well and was enjoyed by all.

Stir Fried Crystal Prawns were a little disappointing hidden in a bed of chopped carrots! But overall the experience seemed to have everyone smiling which is always a great thing these days! We're definitely going back.

After reading the reviwes here we decided to give Bambusia a go. The service was over attentive (usually the case at Chinese restraunts but this was annoying so!) and the food was loaded with MSG.

We started with short soup and pork sang choi bow (favourites!), the sang choi bow was huge (for 2 people there was 6 servings!) and quite fresh but very oily and the soup was awful. Defrosted dumplings in a stocky broth that wasn’t pleasant. It was a good thing that we decided to order entrees before deciding on mains as we were too full from the sang choi bow and not too keen anyway!! Shame!

This is a great restaurant. I've been dining there for many years, great food, great service, good value and friendly staff! The location is good, down the road from some shopping centres and near a children's park. The owner and family are all very lovely and entertaining people, and they've recently improved their restroom facilities and have done a wonderful job.

Good solid chinese in a great location. Perfect spot for a birthday celebration or similar with a group of friends, few drinks and karaoke, great night. Service is superb.

This is my favourite restaurant. Highly recommend the Treasure prawns and Perking Duck. Best in the world! The service is great here and the food is magnificent. And if the mood takes you, they offer Karaoke. What more could you ask for?
