We ate here last night with some friends and I was pleasantly surprised. The entree pizza was delicious although lacked chilli, seeing as it was a chilli pizza? I really like the style and base of the pizza though. My Mushroom parpadelle was lovely. Not too oily and not over seasoned with fresh pasta. My husband's spatchcock was the stand out by far.

One complaint would be that the plates weren't warmed and mine was served on melamine (plastic). Bizarre, it meant that my food went cold quickly. The ambience was fine, a little chilly out the back and plastic decor but hey, a lovely buzz in the air and much more warming inside. The waiter was attentive and gave good recommendations.

I found that he took people plates, twice, while one of us was still eating. Also, our mains came out staggered. Most main meals and pizzas were around the $25 mark so good value i think considering the quality of food.

Used to be the best pizza in Balmain. The food is poor, they don't listen to your requests and when I explained their error was made to feel like it was my fault. I only asked for no capsicum as my wife can't eat it. This was ignored. Waste of time and money. Will never eat here again, which is a shame as we used to eat here regularly. New owners are not always a good thing.

I have been there for several times, that's really a good pizza shop. Anyway I like the traditional pizza there!

Wow. What can I say about this once famous Balmain institution? When Dino and Daphne ran it back in the good old days (pre 2001), it was sensational. The best pizza around. Now? Balmain has several better options. One word, don't!

To rate this local restaurant as absolutely awful doesn't do it true justice. As a convenience I have ordered from here many times and each time something has been wrong with my order. This used to be a great place until it changed hands to the current owners who would know as much about making pizza and pasta as they would driving a rickshaw, which would be infinitely more appropriate.

The last time I ordered from here, they delivered a vegetarian instead of a supreme and when I called them to let them know of the mistake, they accused me of lying. I said I didn't want a replacement as it would be too late and to just refund the cost of the pizza. They actually came and collected the pizza to check and see if they were wrong and even after admitting their mistake, still refused to refund it.

Their staff are intolerably rude and abusive, the pizzas are below average, the salads dreadful and the pastas always overcooked. I would suggest they stick to making fried rice and leave pizza and pasta to people who know are infinitely more qualified to do so. I will never order from this place again, and strongly suggest other locals do the same.

Pizza's are nice, but I would get a takeway as there is no ambience when eating in, especially if you're the only one in there.

This place has seriously gone downhill in recent months which is so disappointing as we live so close and always used it for takeaway pizza. I do believe it has changed management in the last 6 months so perhaps that's got something to do with it.

I have ordered my last ever pizza from Balmain Trattoria after seeing what they served up on my last order. The seafood pizza had two small prawns on it and no other seafood and all three pizzas we ordered were swimming in a cheap, oily cheese. I can only guess they use this amount of cheese to cover up the lack of other ingredients on the pizza. Anyway, do yourself a favour and get your pizza elsewhere.

Has to be one of the best places to get a pizza and their pastas aren't bad either.
The lady who runs the place has always been lovely to me - I only wish there was more ambience and I would eat there - I only ever get takeaway or home delivery.

I've always loved this place, but it's recently gone down hill. Food's good but service not so much. The woman who runs this place (or she's just there most of the time) can be quite rude and make you feel like you're an inconvenience by being there.. other days she'll just ignore you.

Left a table of us sitting there for 20 minutes once without even acknowledging us or coming over to take an order whilst she gabbed to her co-worker. When we ended up just walking out I swear she was delighted. Not building great customer relations by making your patrons feel like they're an inconvenience.
