It was a cold Monday night when we dined here, so it was pretty quiet. Service was impeccable, romantic (my fiance proposed!) and ambient. The food, overall was a bit of a let down so I haven't rated the value very highly. Here's what we ordered:
Entree - fish cakes lacked texture and flavour. They sat in a kind of watery brown liquid. Mains - Grilled whole barramundi with candlenut sauce - nice but a heavy sauce for such a light fish. Fried chicken in special balinese sauce - tasted like chicken cacciatori and the meat was dry. Stir fried spinach indo style - delicious - the standout as it tasted like real Indo. Dessert - es cendol - Yum! can't go wrong there.
A great place to eat! Very unique location and decoration... the food was very nice, since I've tried the chef's previous restaurant before. The service was very good and attentive. I will recommend this to everyone!
Had an excellent deep fried whole barramundi dish, coconut rice, and Mee Goreng. Very enthusiastic chef, Jonathan, who wants to make his guests happy. Very friendly service. The waitress Thea was really nice and fantastic. BYO makes it really easy to come again. Would love to come back with my friends and family pretty often.
Appearance from the street is not enticing but once inside it was fine. Meat dishes were delicious. Looking forward to trying the vegetable menu next time.
