I'm not sure if there are new owners here but we started going to Bakerman on the recommendation of other locals at the end of last year. We were not disappointed!

The service here is exceptional, the waiters obviously have years of experience and really care about the food in your time. Nothing was too much trouble and menu items explained eloquently.

The food is great. As they are also a bakery, the bread and other items are fresh and delicious. Eggs are always perfectly cooked and other produce lovingly prepared. The big thing for me was the pot of tea, as a non-coffee drinker I often get small, piddly teapots with barely anything in them and usually poor quality tea. Not at Bakerman, I am given a huge pot of T2 Earl Grey and also offered a free hot water top up!

The seating outside is lovely in the warmer months, not sure how it will fare during winter but it gets a lot of sun so I am sure it will be fine. A fine rival to the always good but packed out Sofia up the road!

It all tasted ok, but just ok, typical to a meal that one could eat at any coffee shop. An interesting vinegarette was served on the salad which consisted of exotic lettuce cultivars, some few beetroot sprouts, sun dried tomatoes and pipped olives. The salad portion looked of a reasonable size on the plate, but in comparison to the quiche size, it rather overwhelmed the plate. The quiche was an individual round unit, of about 3" diameter, with very little filling therein.

The taste was rather ordinary, nothing that would justify the exalted price that was asked. As for the final part of the meal, the coffee, it was weak, with virtually no coffee taste. One would be better off having a cup of hot milk with some water to cool it off. There were a range of dessert type cakes that one could consume, but I for one did not partake, the pricing was horrendous, and the sizing was on the small side, compared to what is available at other patisseries.
