Ate here on Friday night after Spanish Tapas and Almustafa were full. I am not a fan of Mexican food but I usually love fajitas. We ordered a prawn entree which was nice, then steak fajitas. The steak came out cold, as was everything else on the plate. There were only three tortillas which was really not enough for the amount of steak.
The fajitas were pretty bland really, not the tasty dish I've had in the past at other Mexican joints. The restaurant was so loud I had to yell to be heard, but the staff were efficient. Ok place, but would not go there again, nor recommend to anyone. very average food.
We unexpectedly discovered this restaurant one day - hiding behind the chainwire fences that have become the norm of Glebe Pt Road - What a gem! This is by far the most aspiring Mexican Restaurant I have been to in Sydney... even if it's not even "traditional" Mexican. The ingredients were fresh, the servings were big and the food tasted great! My favourite is the Chimichanga - get it hot and with refried beans.
Great Tex-Mex at very good price even for Glebe. Food looks and taste fresh and their margaritas are authentic, not the disgusting jose cuervo mix. My Fave local Mexican.
I have grown up around 'border food' (food from the border of the US and Mexico) as well as the some of the best restaurants and hotels in the world. I am very sorry to say that this was simply terrible. The food was relatively tasteless and prepared with little care to please either palate or presentation; the ambience was equivalent to that of a cafeteria; the service nonchalant; the servers were depressing. There was none of the liveliness of Mexican culture in either the food or the restaurant.
Went here on a rainy Sunday night at the place was very quiet. Found the service to be average and the waitress wasn’t very enthusiastic. Food was served fairly quickly. The entree (Chicken Fajitas) were good but our mains were fairly average. My Chicken Suiza look liked it had been frozen and then microwaved and my partners chicken burrito was quite dry. It wasn’t an expensive meal but overall it was an average experience.
The place was buzzy and alive, the service wasn't great but the chipotle prawn quesadilla was sensational as were the dips and the beef fajitas. Great flavours, great atmosphere not so great service.
Very enjoyable Mexican at a price that is affordable. Have now been to this restaurant 3 times and had different things each time. Every meal has been huge so don't fill up before you go.
Just one word of warning, don't take BYO, the corkage of $4 per person despite if they drink or not is a killer and is the one sour note for this great local eatery.
I am not a major fan of Mexican food: I think its the beans! But jalapenos make it more than bearable. This is one of the most tasty, consistent and AFFORDABLE mexican I have ever had. I have tried their chipotle prawns twice and they were bouncingly fresh both times. The only drawback is their miniscule (to non-existent) dessert menu. Well, you can always go next door to the hot chocolate joint! Make sure you try the prawns.
This restaurant was recommended by a friend, and me and my husband loved it. The food was fresh, delicious and huge servings - we had chicken fajitas and the chimichanga.. we loved the salsa! Unlike some of the other reviews here, our service was great, staff were friendly and helpful. Will be coming back !
