Overview
Bai Yok's Modern Thai Cuisine offers Thai food lovers indulged by its stylish Thai treats. The menue features a great combination of renowned Thai favorites in a modern presentation.
After seeing the pad thai being made the week before on TV, we decided to try it for ourselves! Busy on a Thurs evening. Staff helpful. Food very good, fresh tasting with vegetables you actually want to eat in the dishes, rather than just making it look better. (Thought the pad thai was a little over sweet, but still very nice!). We will be back.
Am based in UK but visit Manly regularly. Have eaten here in both locations and love the food but above all the staff. The management is first class and the staff, even when learning, charming and efficient. Hope it does not pay the price of its popularity. Long may it continue to be there for me.
This is one of the good thai restaurants in Manly. We loved the spring rolls, done just perfect. The chicken and eggplant stir fry was excellent and so was the pad thai but the fried rice was too oily and veges overdone. The serves are generous but being a busy night the service a was slow, but the foods worth the wait!
Food was delicious, we had spring rolls and curry puffs for an entree, they were exceptional. For mains we had thai fried rice, pad thai and the spicy chicken special. All were exquisite.
The service was fantastic, our entrees were on our table within 5 minutes of ordering and the mains were there within 20 minutes. The table staff were polite and highly efficient... the prices were a little above average but not exorbitant for the food we received. Above all a very pleasant experience and somewhere that I will highly recommend!
This was our first time at Bai Yok and despite the good reviews this was the worst Thai we have tasted, The service was very good but the food was really poor. For starters my husband had the tom yum soup which was very bland and I had the special of salt and pepper prawn and scallop which was okay with only two pieces of scallop which were over cooked.
For mains we had the roast duck and a prawn curry. The jasmine rice was really good but the duck was over cooked and the vegetables were raw and very chunky and the sauces were really poor. The meal cost us $76.00 in total with $5.00 for corkage, we did leave a tip but this was purely for the waiters and not for the food.
We went on a Tuesday night when it had only just opened, from what I could gather, it is the sort of place where people bring children. The food was fairly good.
We had grilled spring rolls which were interesting and two of the stir frys. I had a chicken, eggplant and chilli stir fry which was excellent. I would come here again, but I have found better places for that money, but definitely a good choice, especially if you are taking a lot of people.
This place is awesome, the staff were so helpful and made a special table for us, the BYO is nice and the entrees particularly were brilliant, some of the best soft shell crab I've eaten and very reasonably priced for the 4 of us, will be back soon.
Moving from the tiny restaurant, to the corner spot has only enhanced the experience at this great restaurant. Wonderful, modern style Thai food. The BBQ chicken and lamb cutlets are delicious.
