If you like dealing with robots and staff hired off Corn Flakes boxes this is the place to visit. I have been a tenant in and around Chifley plaza for 3 years now and this is one place that has dropped in quality over the past years. Two thumbs down.

Great concept, great menu. But as you know its not much value at all and when you get staff that dont want to be proud of their jobs... this place should be avoided. I think Bacco should hire staff from overseas and maybe the place may do a bit better.

One of the worst meals I've ever had. $31 (not expensive but not cheap either) for the 'special' pork vegetables which were absolutely abominable. Awkward service and when we gave a tip of $2.50 one of the waiters shouted for us to "Keep the change". Appalling attitude and appalling food. Shame that Vanto (only 50m further up in the QVB) wasn't open because it's far superior!

We went here on a Monday evening, spirit of the moment thing and we were super glad we did! Best food we've had in a long time! We had a $49 voucher and from that we were served Sonoma bread for the table, the waiter gave us a second plate at no extra cost. We had avocado and salmon bruschetta for entrees and my husband had lamb cutlet which was absolutely gorgeous and I had a huge plate of marron linguine.

They are very generous with their food and the service was fantastic! I forgot to mention we also got a bottle of Sangeviese as part of the deal and it's far from the cheap nasty house wine we have experience with other restaurants! We'll def be back and will recommend you do also!

I go to Bacco all the time, only to buy their great cakes and pastries. The place has nothing else going for it. The service is bad and there never seems to be anyone in charge. I have ordered cakes on a regular basis as I buy them for the office birthdays. The cakes are always beautifully decorated and they taste delicious and fresh. If it wasn't for their great cakes, I wouldn't bother going there.

Bacco is fast becoming a laid back institution that delivers more than it promises. If you can get passed the sloppy service in the cafe and the constant rattle of the coffee machine you will find a haven of well executed cafe style modern Italian hidden in the backwaters of Chifley's ground floor. If you fancy watching Chefs in action then sit at the bench "Tavola Calda style" and study Fulvio who is the 'commandatore' of the kitchen.

He has engendered a speed and fluidity in the kitchen that many chefs in greater establishments would find baffling and intimidating. His style of pseudo A'lacarte could be at home anywhere in the biggest and best cities of the world doing a lunch time menu that is truly extraordinary in its complexity.

Try the Tonno as a main with a glass of Vermentino. You will wonder why it has taken you so long to find this little Northern Italian style trattoria hidden behind an escalator.

I go here occasionally to get coffees and afternoon treats. I was reminded today of why I had stopped going here, the staff, especially the girls, have serious attitude problems. If they don't want to work, they should go home. Food is ok, so are cocktails, but with other alternatives in the city, its not somewhere that makes you come back. Not even for a coffee.

I went to Bacco in Chifley for lunch yesterday, we were a group of 6. Prior to sitting down at the table, we asked one of the waitresses if it would be alright for one person in the group to sit down with the rest although she had brought lunch. The other five would be eating. The waitress said this would be fine and seated us.

The group all ordered salads, which were a decent serving size, the only positive aspect of this review. All was fine until another waitress came by and told the person in our group eating a sandwich from home that this was "not polite". (Note: this person had also ordered a coffee, take what you will from this.) Needless to say, it was a rather awkward and embarassing confrontation because of the conflicting responses and misleading initial representation we had received. One explanation might be that Bacco tends to hire European staff who do not always have a good grasp of English.

The worst part came when we asked for the bill. Service was slow and when the bill arrived, the group had been overcharged by about $3 per main. It was later realised that we had been given an old copy of the menu (with old prices), so the restaurant agreed to let us go with the cheaper price on the old menu "just this once".

For some reason, the tone of the staff was as if we were somehow in the wrong, when it was their mistake. It took about 15 minutes for them to amend the bill, and it only happened after one member of the group walked up to the cash register. I noticed at least 4 staff members working the floor, and no-one else was paying a bill at the time, so the delay was quite inexplicable.

I normally like eating at Bacco, especially from the take-away coffee cart. If only the restaurant staff were more attentive and polite.

I went to the qvb one for a afternoon tea on saturday. The tables were unclean and dirty, service was slow, had to wait for more than an hour for an afternoon tea set because the waitress forgot the order. She did not apologize and was rude. Will definitely not be back.

Went to the QVB cafe - Zero for service - they failed to bring out our coffees for an hour after 'checking on it' multiple times then when it finally came all the orders were wrong - waited another 20 mins - by that time we finished our meals - ordered dessert - waited another 20 mins - went to the counter to ask about it - was told they didn't have the order! - waited another 15 minutes.

Food and drinks were fine but if you are in a hurry or expect any level or service - Fail
Oh, then went to pay the bill - stood there in front of the dumb cashier and basically had to throw the bill tray at her to get her attention - no tip given obviously . Oh and we didn't pay for our drinks - one waiter had figured out that we weren't too happy with them. A real real pity cos its a nice place but will only go back if i felt like I had a lot of patience and didn't care about service.
