Eight of us went for a birthday party, food was excellent, service great, ambience would have been marked down because of the tv but it was playing mexican music so I guess it was Ok, highlight was the owner coming out and singing happy birthday and making the night very special. Definitely will be going back!

This is a great place to go when it's full but not overly packed. I especially like the fajitas above all else. The owner is very welcoming and comfortable to be himself which is also refreshing. It's byo too so you don't have to spend like you're Rockefeller to have a good meal out.

I have been here twice and the service is great. The atmosphere is relaxed and fun and the food is good. I highly recommend this place. Clearly very popular as it is always busy.

The food here is really disappointing. Sloppy refried beans (tasted liked canned) flooding the plate, canned fruit in the sangria, and you have to pay $4+ extra for both sour cream and guacamole. The food was very low quality and thus very over priced. Though even if it was really inexpensive I still wouldn't eat here again. Sadly, Aztecas is also among the growing number of places boasting a blaring widescreen TV as ambiance. You'd be better off with an old El Paso take home kit from the supermarket. Save your money.

Aztecas is the best Mexican in Sydney! The owner pays particular attention to how his restaurants runs, which makes all the difference. He makes you feel welcome. The food is great (particularly beef burrito) and the dips are amazing, especially the chorizo dip! Yum!

My absolute favourite restaurant in Sydney! Fantastic authentic food, great service and value for money. Great to eat mexican food that is not americanised, I'd never bother to eat at any other mexican place in Sydney, they just don't even come close. Highly highly recommended!

This is a great Mexican restaurant, and I think many people complaining about the food do not understand the difference between Mexican food and "Tex Mex", which we are more familiar with in Australia. Tex Mex is Americanised Mexican food and is generally cheesier etc.

This place offers authentic Mexican fare which you will not find in many so called "Mexican" - Tex Mex restaurants. If you eat here you should really branch out and try some dishes you haven't heard of before.

I've eaten here a few times and have always found the atmosphere to be fun and the staff friendly and helpful.

Had a takeaway from this place before was nice but just went for meal last nite and it was lovely, the atmosphere and staff were great couldn't have asked for more.

We recently visited here as a group for a friend's birthday. While the atmosphere was initially fun and easy, given the food arriving automatically as part of the pre-arranged banquet, the end of the evening came with a nasty surprise.

They had charged us for every little thing they possibly could, in addition to the agreed banquet price. This included: corn chips and dips to start off, that everyone assumed was part of the banquet, and not at an extra cost, toothpicks dipped in chilli sauce that the owner encouraged the blokes to try to test their manliness (hilarious at the time, but certainly no charge was implied) and a creme caramel style dessert with a candle in for the birthday girl that was not ordered (and not eaten).

With no menu provided at any point during the evening, I was also quite surprised to find out that the small carafes of non-alcoholic sangria that I had enjoyed through the night cost $10 each, 2 glasses worth. My beverages ended up costing more than most of my drinking friends.

I can't believe anyone would return to this restaurant when this is their attitude to hospitality.
