This is another place that would like to be a restaurant but, unfortunately, doesn't have the premises for it. If only they were double the size so there was a dining area away from the rest then they could justify the prices but it doesn't. Instead you sit at uncovered laminate tables with a little paper serviette and the on/off roar from the electric pizza ovens a few feet away.

They do the best they can with this. The service is smiling but rushed due to the constant flow of takeaway orders being collected. They are licensed and serve beer (not sure about wine) but accept BYO happily and provide glasses and a cooler without being asked. But it is quite noisy and a trifle warm so not conducive to a long lingering dinner.

We started with a good Caprese Salad and excellent garlic bread. I'm delighted that their pizza comes in a number of sizes and not just large, as with so many places, and they have an extensive menu of Traditional Pizzas, "Super" Pizzas and Gourmet Pizzas, plus pastas and some other italian dishes. We were able to have a small for the wife, a medium for me and a large for the growing boy. Mine was a Calabrese with hot salami that wasn't really hot, he had a meat lovers and she had something with anchovies, so can't comment as I hate the little things.

All were pretty well cooked but pretty stock standard and just not really worth the price. $23 is a lot for a non-woodfired, medium pizza. There are top notch places around Leichhardt/Haberfield that don't charge that, and provide a lot more comfort. Roughly $100 for three eating pizza in what is just a cafe-cum-takeaway is too much.

My suggestion to the owners would be to buy the shop next door and use it as a separated dining area, replace the ovens with woodfired and then charge what you are charging now. We would be back in a flash, but as it is now, naaah.
