The Australian Hotel and Brewery was established in July 2010. The hotel and brewery has been constructed within a large shed that existed from the previous smash repairs business.
In mid 2009 the building works started with the aim to provide a great meeting place for Hills locals and tourists alike. The Australian Hotel and Brewery has a modern/rustic decor which brings a wonderful feeling of a friendly and welcoming atmosphere. From the Comfy leather armchairs in the TAB to the Dragon tree in the Beer Garden, the hotel makes you feel right at home as soon as you step in the front door.

We have been here many times for celebrations. We have always found the food great. It is mid range in price but I feel they are well worth it. The serving size is reasonable and the food is perfectly cooked.
We held my Dad's 60th there last week. It was fantastic! The function manager was nothing but helpful. The food platters were Great! Everyone commented on how nice all the food was (Mate skewers, pizza's, seafood platter).
Their brewed beer is lovely, with the apple cider being a refreshing drink.
Highly recommended!

Tuesday night was disappointing Chicken schnitzel soaked in oil and no flavour in the crumb. What a waste of a decent sized portion. Salad had too many spanish onions and place was a mess in the kids corner. Ripped seats and dirty tables, floors won't be going back for some time.

It looks pathetic from the outside, but is quite stunning and funky inside. Have been here about a dozen times. Food is really good but pricey. They have heaps of specials each week (check website) and the pizza is really superb ($8 pizzas all day Wed and Thurs - usually about $20 which is excessive given the size).
Have a large indoor playground for the kids and it's well isolated to keep the noise in. Great for rainy days. Service is very good. Polite, down-to-earth and friendly staff eager to help. They make their own beers which are pretty good.

We went there for the first time for Father's Day dinner, after hearing so many good reports about the place. We were cheerfully greeted when we arrived and taken to our table. From then on the explanations of the various beers brewed here was very interesting.
The food, garlic pizza crust for starters, then barramundi, lamb and tomato pie and hawaiian pizza was hot and delicious. No room left for dessert, unfortunately. The coffee, however, was perfectly made (I am fussy) and hot. The staff was all very friendly and helpful, which helped create a great atmosphere. Shall definitely return.

This is my new favourite pub. One of the staff here is the friendliest and most helpful person I have ever met in a Sydney hotel. The first time I visited here with my girlfriend and best friend, this particular staff member approached us after we sat down and gave us a tasting platter of the Brewery's beers for free, and spoke to us for a good 5 minutes about the bar and asked us about ourselves.
This kind of service is what will keep me coming back, and is a rare thing to encounter indeed. The pizzas are excellent, and served on a wooden board, which is a nice touch. The chicken parmigana and the burgers, however, are pretty average, and would be the same as something you could prepare yourself at home if given 20 minutes. The beer here is some of the best microbrew my girlfriend and I have ever tasted in Australia, particularly the Pale Ale. The prices are quite expensive, but they have several nights a week where food is massively discounted. This place beats the Mean Fiddler and The Ettamogah hands down.

Very disappointing. Menu choice very limited. Atmosphere of a pub, prices of a sophisticated restaurant without the food quality to match. Drinks expensive. I returned food that was not as described on the menu, the explanation given was that the food was prepare by a "new" person. Not good enough. Won't be back.

Make sure you try their specials, $15 ribs on Mondays, $5 for selected pizzas on Thursdays. Ribs were tender and delicious, probably share a rack between 2 people when having salad/veg and chips. Pizzas are great, thin crust and very tasty.
Dinner for 2 on Monday night was $40 + drinks - you'd be paying easily $50-60 for the same food in a city pub. Food is way better than the Mean Fiddler down the road! The trick for drink/bar queues, go around the corner towards the pokies/TAB area where there is often no line. Also, make sure you try the beers they brew on site, the Galaxy Pale Ale is great with dinner and the dark beer with dessert.

The food, you have to line up in a line to order, and sometimes the line can be very long. And it looks like there is only 1, maybe 2 regeisters open. But the food comes out quite quickly.
My slow cooked lamb reminded me of a dryer lamb kebab meat and after the meal, I still felt a bit hungry. My friends were giving the food the same rating as myself
Ambience wise its a big place, with a huge carpark and some boomerang shaped tables. There appears to be a upstairs area, for private functions?
It is a bit noisy though but does have a child area, places to play pool and make a bet.
The one thing that put me off was outside, the smell of, from what my friend told me, was fertilizer smell which was overpowering and thank goodness the smell doesn't enter the place. I do like how big it is but the food I was left unimpressed.
