I have come back home wondering whether I have been in the right restaurant. I don't know what everyone is talking about, but while the entrees (money bags and curry puffs) where very nice and yet not outstanding, the mains were a real let down, crying tiger with maybe less than 2 spoonful of sauce, the meat's quality was mediocre, and served on a deb of plain salad that was very little appealing, red duck curry was rather flavourless. I won't name other restaurants, even in the same suburb, where the same dish is something to remember.

Environment is ok, but I had to dine wearing a leather jacket because it was freezing (many other people wore their coat, it wasn't just me). I didn't take a dessert because I was rather disappointed with the overall experience up to that point and left. I don't think I will come back again, and if I did it would be chiefly to try and figure out why everyone else's reviews are so good.

I am sorry you did not enjoy the dinner.

I have checked with the chef, re the mains, the red curry duck is one of our most popular curries, and we usually serve a few servings every night, on weekend, more than a dozen servings, and the feedback is always very positive.

With the crying tiger, we use top quality scotch fillet, and the fillet is marinated, that is why the sauce is on the side, and it does come with some vegetables, but it is not a salad dish, the vegetables are there more for garnish.

If you like extra vegetable and sauce, please feel free to ask, and we are always very happy to 'top them up' so to speak. I have to say that we have not had other customers complaining the amount of the garnish and the sauce.

Thank you again for your time in writing the review for us. I understand that we should think ahead of what customers expect, without relying on customers to tell us, nevertheless, I am sure the evening could turn out to be a much more enjoyable night if we got to know the various aspects you wrote about, we would have been quickly addressed them.

I've read most of the reviews before I went to Atom Thai, therefore I booked beforehand. Booked a table of 2 on 23rd October 2010 for my anniversary with my girlfriend, but arrived 30 minutes earlier. It was my fault that we arrived earlier but the first waiter was still able to give me a table straight away.

We ordered the 3 dishes, tom yum soup which arrived straight away as it was readily available. I saw another table that ordered later than us was already enjoying their dinner, then another table then another. Then ended up waiting 45 minutes for the next dish to come which was meant to be a entree, it was one of the popular entrees but forgot the name. Rather the main (soft shell crab with chilli, forgot the name) arrived before the entree.

Had to chase them up a few time before anything else came after the tom yum soup. After the chicken fried rice came quickly after a different waiter served us as he released we still haven't eaten yet and after I complained to him. He was polite and apologised for forgetting us, which made me have a decent meal after a long wait. Ordered an extra Pad Thai afterward which was delicious.

Overall the food was great, I loved it especially the soft shell crab. Other than the first waiter that looked after the front and took our order, and totally forgot about us after the tom yum soup. It was great but spoiled my anniversary.

Hi Atom Thai. I love your food and the wonderful service that accompanies it. I always bring friends and family to your restaurant, as I know no one is ever disappointed. I live locally and often order take-away for myself too! This is why I have to tell you - I ordered the chicken larb last week (one of my favourite meals, and Atom has always made it to perfection), but this time I have to say, it was full of very bad pieces of fatty chicken fat, not chicken mince. Please, please, please go back to making this dish with perfection, like you always have in the past. I will definitely order it again, to see if I just had an unusually bad experience, but I would hate to be disappointed again, as I was last week. Keep up the good work! Your food is amazing and the staff are absolutely wonderful!

I have just spoken to the chef, and she is profoundly sorry for that. She said the cook who usually does the salad/larb was on leave, and the other cook who covered for him did not trim the chicken breast properly before mincing it. Our sincere apologies. Our chef will meet with the staff in the kitchen later today concerning this.

It is very kind of you to let us know the issue and still being so generous in endorsing our food and service. We are really grateful.

Wow! How can we have lived in the area and not known about this place sooner? It only came to our attention as we were flipping through the Entertainment Book. This place is absolutely fantastic. The food was delicious!

We ordered the whole barramundi with green mango salad and the duck breast in tamarind sauce. The barramundi dish was perfectly spiced and the duck dish was very tasty, the tamarind sauce gave it a real kick. Love the textures of both dishes. Even though we were both really full after the mains, we decided to order the sticky rice and mango to share for dessert. Glad that we did! The mango was clearly fresh and the sticky rice was not overly sweet.

Service was excellent, food was served promptly and the staff are very attentive and very polite. Ambience is relaxed and we like how the tables are not too close together as other Thai restaurants tend to feel too closed in and crowded. It's a perfect date place. We'll definitely be returning soon!

I think that is a great combination, with one a sweet/sour/tangy sauce on the succulent roast duck breast, and the barramundi fish, the fresh green mango salad compliments the light battered crispy fried fish. I first noticed this restaurant in the entertainment book and then when I saw their ratings on eatability, I was shocked! Such high ratings for a restaurant that I haven't heard of before, so I organised a group dinner on Saturday night and I was praised for booking a great restaurant.

Smiles from staff as soon as you walked in and we were taken to the rooms out the back which were nice. Based on peoples comments I ordered the whole barramundi with green apple salad, green curry along with a few other dishes. They were devoured happily and my friends raved about the barramundi dish!

The plates were cleared and we were too full for dessert, so we just sat there catching up with each other. They were polite and continued to top up our water glasses. With the entertainment vouchers the price per head for the amount of food we had was good value for money.

Even my husband who walks out of thai restaurants claiming the food was "okay" loved it and we will be back wtih our parents to try other dishes but we will definitely be ordering the barramundi again! Thank you for a great night!

Both my wife and I decided to celebrate our anniversary by having dinner at Atom Thai, having read great reviews by fellow diners we felt it would be a good choice. We were right!

I have to admit, Thai food has been getting a little 'boring' for me maybe because it is available almost every where in Sydney and it's usually decent enough. Dinning at Atom Thai re-awakened our love for such tasty cuisine, an awesome menu which made it tricky to decided on what to order (a good sign).

Duck curry was lusciously thick and creamy with a spicy bite to it, entree had all those wonderful Thai flavors of freshness and spice. And of course the service was wonderful, friendly and sincere.

Thank you all at Atom Thai for providing and excellent dinning experience for a decent price. Look forward to our next visit probably bringing along some friends!

Tried this one as it was included in the Entertainment Book. Very impressed with the food it was certainly a higher standard than the run of the mill Thai, a little pricey but you get what you pay for. The service was excellent, attentive but unobtrusive. A very pleasant experience and will certainly be returning.

Went here for a romantic meal and had a great meal. The restaurant has three rooms, all with plenty of ambience. The service is extremely attentive, the waiter would put the napkin in your lap when you arrived and was always on hand to pour water or wine or dish up rice before you even thought of it yourself. The only thing was that my chair had no back so was a bit uncomfortable after a couple of hours.

The food was the best Thai food I have had in a while, particularly the duck curry. A bit pricier than elsewhere but well worth it. Also BYO and in the Entertainment Book.

Ate at Atom on Saturday for a friends birthday got 4 entrees and 4 mains all were great. My friend is a vegetarian and she loved the fake meat. One of the best thai restaurants I have ever been 2 service was great and it was so cheap. Thanks for a lovely evening!
