Exceptional service and fantastic food. We love the steamed scallops, the Choo Chee (vegetarian) is the best we ever tasted and the seafood Volcano is a winner both on taste and presentation. Thanks for a great meal.

Recently our party enjoyed the banquet menu, and we were treated to some fine food and exceptional service. Great value for money and they even humbled us by going across the road to pick up our birthday cake from Ice n Slice. Everyone enjoyed the food immensely, many had not had the privilege to taste the food at Atom Thai, but were thoroughly impressed, and they said they would be back.

Special thanks from our vegetarian friend, who said the food was absolutely scrumptious and very fresh. The noodle was superb apparently, made from scratch she thought.

Sincere thank you to Robin for his phenomenal customer service and being a fantastic host once again, preparing all the menus and special requests beforehand, and making the night memorable.

Apologies if I was a little tipsy toward the end of the night, for bowing to all your staff; was not meant in disrespect. I really appreciate the staff and admire the culture at Atom Thai.

I can't recall seeing Atom there that night, but Atom Thai has impressed yet again. Congratulations, I have finally given you perfect 10's across the board. Well deserved!

It has been almost a yeah since I have been dining at Atom Thai. I feel very fortunate that I have had the pleasure of experiencing such high quality food in such a professional and comfortable environment supported by very friendly and genuine team led by some fantastic, accommodating hosts.

I have dined here approximately 8-10 times in that twelve months and I would not have returned to the bustle of Newtown and the inconvenience of finding a park had Atom Thai not been worth returning.

Notable dishes you must try are as follows:

Miang Goong: An icon of Atom Thai and an institution in Thai food in my experience.

Satay Prawn/ chicken: I savour every bit of the sauce; best satay sauce I have tasted!

Choo Chee: Has become my all time favourite curry I have tasted, no one does it better!

Massaman Beef: The best Massaman I have ever tried!

Chicken & Cashew Nut: The best flavour from any Thai restaurant, with that extra hint of chilli and freshness.

Tamarind Duck: Tender, unique balance of sweet and sour.

I have attempted to find a Thai restaurant in my local or semi-local area which comes remotely close to the quality and service of Atom Thai and have not been successful. You may see various Thai restaurants reviewed on Eatability, some of which have high ratings similar to Atom, but they do not come close.

From the very first time I dined at Atom Thai and every other experience they have consistently achieved the same high standard and service each time. That’s a credit to Atom, Robin and the team.

What I truly believe makes this restaurant a success apart from the great cooking team, are the hosts, Atom and Robin. Every time I have visited they make sure everything is running smooth, and that we are always comfortable, as if we were part of the family. From the host down to the wait staff on the floor, there is no arrogance, there is always generosity and respect and it’s always a pleasure to eat there.

With the addition of new function rooms, Atom Thai has reaffirmed itself as the premier Thai restaurant in NSW, and if there is a better one, in terms of food, quality, service and price, then please let me know, because I haven’t found better.

Atom, I'm writing this review to you as you are so generous in responding to all reviews posted here. Your restaurant is simple lovely. The food is a good step above the other Thai places along King Street. The service is always attentive but not too much so. Love the Miang, love the Duck Curry. Keep up the great work and please thank everyone both in the kitchen and on the floor for creating such a delight in Newtown.

Without a doubt one of my favorite restaurants! I have brought many friends here who, like me, have left with our mouths watering. The menu leaves you spoilt for choice, the ambience is both relaxing and inviting, the food is very well priced (the miang Goong is amazing) and the service is extremely friendly, enthusiastic and conscientious!

If you have a hankering for Thai tonight, don't overlook Atom Thai! You might even see me there!

I tried Atom a few times after reading the excellent reviews and am happy to say I whole-heartedly agree that this is a lovely restaurant. The entrees are my favourite, must-tries are the tofu with tamarind sauce (as good as Prasit's!), vegetarian spring rolls (crispy, delicate and delicious), and the BBQ octopus (melt in the mouth).

I've also tried the Banana Flower Salad which is one of my favourite dishes at Spice Market (Kirribilli), and although it is very nice it wasn't special enough to order again, especially considering it was over $20. The curries are lovely but don't come with many veg so be warned, better to order some veg on the side (but a cheaper option than $13 for veg would be nice).

In general not the cheapest night out, especially for Thai in Newtown. However, all in all the food was fantastic, the ambience delightful, the service impeccable, we'll be back again very soon to try more entrees!

After revisiting: Food was divine. 6 of us stuffed ourselves with the most amazing food, including lots of seafood (Barramundi and green apple salad amazing), plus BYO, tip, etc - totalled $35 each. Which was great for the quality of the food and service. Love it! So sick of disappointing, Westernised Thai, and Atom is my saviour!

My vege friends also loved the range of vegetarian dishes, including vege options for a few of the entrees such as betel leaf parcels and use of mock meats (like the Vege Duck Salad arghlghlghlll).

We proud ourselves in good size serving, whether it is seafood/meat/vegetables. Many of our regular customers do comment on the large serving we provide. With all dishes, salad/stir fried/curries, please let us know if you like extra vegetables, we only only charge $2 for extra vegies.

For a full serving of vegetables, our price has remained at $12.90 despite the hike in price for fresh vegetables due to the unfortunate flood and bush fire.

Great thai food, and service was great, money bags, thai fish cakes, salt and pepper squid also divine. Had duck red curry, and chicken pad thai. I like this place and will travel to newtown to get it again. It is 20 minutes from me and rock mortar at peakhurst is also my favorite, but I like a change now and then.

Went here for dinner with a girlfriend. The service is amazing and the food was really good too! Definitely recommend the entree with the prawn, cashew and fried onion, I've forgotten what it is called but it says its a favourite on the menu! It's amazing! The restuarant is great value for money! I will definitely be back!

I have been here a couple of times already, and always keep going back for the food and excellent service. When the dishes come they don't always look like there will be enough, but somehow by the end of every meal we're always left very satisfied. My friends rave about the soft shell crab and the curry with the fish fillets is also extremely tasty!

The staff has always been very accommodating with my requests for extra servings, more veggies etc. The only thing is if you are after a quiet dinner it can get a bit loud in the restaurant, plus you get the hustle and bustle of King street.
