This small place was a nice find. A bit of a mix of asian cuisines but what we had was fresh and flavoured well. Worth a second visit.

A nice little restaurant that is a bit hidden but worth searching out in the rush of neutral bay. A comfortable atmosphere, not really suited to a romantic date, but perfect for a relaxed meal with friends. Food was excellent without being flashy, and the service was friendly. The value of the meals suits what you get too, so it's a great place for those nights you just don't want to cook.

Went to try after reading reviews. San Choy Bow was crispy and tasty. Chicken had good chicken flavour. Crab pot was really outstanding and surprised on the upside.

Tasty food with friendly service. Small restaurant with carpet so you talk comfortably.

A friend and I recently had a great meal here, recommend it highly. Asian Kitchen is a small restaurant, but the night we dined there, there was also a table of 10 guests, so they're able to accommodate larger groups as well. The menu is primary Cantonese, with a few Malaysian and south east Asian influences. As someone who travels frequently to Hong Kong, I can honestly say Asian Kitchen rivals any of the top HK restaurants in offering up top notch Cantonese cuisine.

For entrees, we had a delicious salt and pepper tofu number, which was infused with prawn meat and came with a light, warm lemon dipping sauce (I don't know the name of the dish, as we asked for chef's recommendations for our starters rather than order off the menu), and crispy skin chicken pancakes. Having the prawn meat in the tofu mixture coupled with the light, tangy sauce was a refreshing change from the regular salt and pepper tofu, it was light and fluffy, well seasoned and not oily at all.

The crispy skin chicken pancakes were served like Peking duck, with cucumber, hoisin sauce and shallots. The chicken was well seasoned, and full of meaty, chicken flavour (for those of you who've watched any Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall, you'll understand this very well). A nice change from Peking duck, and a lighter option too.

For our main course, we shared a char kway teow, which I have not one complaint about. Far too often, I've experienced flat rice noodle dishes which are bland, far too oily, or both. But this char kway teow could not disappoint, perfectly stir fried, loose noodles not clumped together, and a very generous serving full of BBQ pork, prawns, egg strips, shallots and all those other goodies. The spices were well balanced, and we were later told that it was stir fried using their housemate XO sauce.

Could not be happier after our meal, probably could have ordered more but was still satisfied after two entrees and the main. Will definitely come back again, great value and food! Also, inspired by tigerbill (review below), I have ordered the laksa for takeaway even though it's not on the menu. For a restaurant that doesn't list it on their menu they definitely produce a brilliant combination chicken and prawn laksa (I'm a self-confessed laksa fanatic).

Will definitely suggest to Herman, the host, to add it to their menu. As well as the laksa, I've also ordered the silken egg and prawn on rice (for true Cantonese cuisine connoisseurs) for take away.

Hermon does a great job at putting our quality asian food. The menu is mostly chinese but has a few other asian influenced dishes. We went on a Sunday night with the family and the restaurant was full with happy diners.

We called this restaurant for takeaway and were very pleased. I ordered a laksa that was not on the menu but they were happy to make it for us anyway. Quick delivery and very good food will order again.
