Fantastic value for money & good night out. I have been there twice now & the chefs are entertaining & join in the fun. I'm stll getting over the food catching business but it's a great place to go. I'd recommend it.

Chefs are very good at this restaurant. Very fast service and noisy ambience. I go with friends on a regular basis.

I've been a few times, and always love it here. It is very Japanese for anyone who has been to Japan. Loud, noisy, obscure is all part of the experience. The wait staff tend to be on the poor side, but the Teppanyaki chefs are fantastic and do a great show. Practising your catching skills before going. Always happy to go back. If you are after just dinner, not the place for you. If you are after a dinner and show, some good fun, and good food, Asahi doesn't disappoint.

Went for dinner with a group for a birthday - What an amazing night! I cant wait to go back. The ambience is great, you look around the room and you can see that everyone is having a good time. Food was delicious. Although you don't get that much during the teppenyaki service you can always order more from the menu. The waitress was very attentive. Overall a fantastic experience I will definitely be back!

3 of us went there for dinner on my mother's birthday and were squeezed between two large groups. Our experience there wasn't very pleasant since the groups were extremely loud and the kitchen staff were too busy entertaining them. Our food portion was small, bland and expensive, uniforms are dirty and unauthentic. To be honest this place is westernized style of teppanyaki, you only go there to get food thrown at you.

This is possibly the worst value, mediocre Japanese teppanyaki in the whole of Sydney. We had the deluxe "banquet" which consisted of 8 or so dishes including miso soup and a tiny bowl of salad (same size as the miso soup bowl) which was only 1/3 full. The appetiser plate had a spoonful of seaweed, the tiniest sliver of sashimi I have ever seen, and a spoonful of beef jerky. Followed by two tiny prawns each, then three 2 sq cm pieces of grilled squid. We're already talking 5 dishes here and we felt we really haven't eaten anything.

Food was very good, but certainly not plentiful. 3 of us went and ordered the deluxe set, normally $37pp but because it's normally min 4 people for this set, they charged extra $2pp (why?). We felt very cramped as they squeezed us in and felt like they were trying to rush us out the door. When we ordered dessert, they tried to move us into a back room.
We said "don't worry about dessert then". They changed their minds and we had dessert where we were. The total bill for 3 incl carafe of red and a soft drink was $147, which would have been ok if the food was more generous and the service was less "production line". Chef was entertaining and friendly.

A good Teppanyaki restaurant that you don't need to travel into the city for. A fun night out but not the best if you are looking for a big meal.

Food was badly overcooked and over seasoned by the 'kitchen staff' (particularly the seafood). For the price there was insufficient food, many of us left hungry. The first dish was actually an insult, an appetiser with two pieces of sashimi that were each smaller than a five cent piece (I kid you not!).

I had been here a few times some years ago and have recently been back twice. The overall experience is still consistent and satisfying. If you want some mild entertainment whilst enjoying a meal with family/friends this is a good place to start, the entertainment being the chefs and their cooking antics. Look out for the flying egg and rice! Great fun for the kids. Prices are a little high for what you get, but it's worth the extra expense for a really enjoyable night out.
