The thai food at Arun Thai is consistently excellent. But both the quality and the prices are higher than a takeaway shop. Kham has been making fantastic thai food in Potts Point for over 15 years. A favourite for many Potts Point locals. Highly recommended.

Have always been a regular at Arun thai, the manager Kham always looks after my family and I well. It's bordering on 15 years that I've lived in Potts point, a lot of restaurants have come and gone. Arun remain my favorite Thai restaurant in the area.
A few dishes we regularly order, is the larb gai, Massaman beef curry and the old favorite pad Thai to name a few. Arun's wine list is extensive and well priced, given the mark ups in some establishments. In short it isn't your local grab and go take away place, but a comfortable fine dining restaurant.

Very poor service. Two main course orders forgotten. This is after Slow service to get a drink ordered, Rice not being dished out with meals, entree orders wrong and overpriced drinks. Food was average and not worth the money. Not going back and suggest you spend your money somewhere else.

We came here after our booking at another restaurant dropped out. We were promptly seated, the decor was nice, although the single paper sheet menus should have warned us of what was to come.
The food, plainly, is sad. It's not terrible, but we expect more from a restaurant as opposed to a cheap takeaway. In particular, all the vegetables accompanying the dishes were ordinary steamed veggies, and the same ones each time, not even dressed up in a sauce or anything to match each individual dish.
Furthermore, this places charges 2-3 times as much as any other thai restaurant in the area, which is ridiculous considering the quality.
Finally, the service was disappointing. They screwed up our order (delivered the wrong main), and then delayed so long in serving us the correct one that we had to leave without it in order to not run late for our other engagements. One entree and one main, which is all we ended up having, cost us more than two entrees and two mains would have cost us at Amaya, a far better restaurant.
Never going here again.

Exceptional cuisine and lovely staff. The spice levels and flavour were completely authentic and I can't believe that I've been living in the area for 2.5 years and have only just been here for lunch!

Having spent time in Thailand I appreciate the genuine flavours, we had the spring rolls and satay chicken to start, both genuinely superb, and then chilli scallops (it has a Thai name I have forgotten) and Massaman curry, again, both outstanding, esp the curry. The wine list was extraordinary, somewhat lacking at the value end, but breadth and scope (a full page of Pinot Noir!) was wonderful.

We enjoyed the comfortable seating and panelled atmosphere, but food and service disappointing. Another review mentions the owner's interest in wine, but the wine list has no rose varieties (e.g. Grenache, or good Australian rose). The food itself was patchy. While the beef salad was acceptable if a little short on salad vegetables, most other dishes were bland and lacked the depth and complexity of flavours usual in Thai food.
The jungle seafood curry consisted of a couple of pieces of fish swimming forlornly around with slices of ginger in a clear soup. Service also inconsistent with long gaps: we had to persuade a reluctant waiter to leave the rice container after a long wait for rice to be replenished on our plates.

Best Thai Restaurant in Sydney hands down! with an extensive wine list to match. I'll be back with the family very soon.

Four of us went to this restaurant and we were all extremely disappointed with the food. The worst food we have had in a Thai restaurant so far. Perhaps, it was the chefs day off. The only decent dish was the entree of fish cakes. The soft spring rolls were awful as were the 4 main dishes. Service was terrible, we had to chase the waitress around to get menu's and then the waitress attempted to clear the table 3 times whilst we were still eating. We will never return and will advise our friends to keep away.

Not your average Thai Restaurant, had my wife's birthday here. We were a party of 18, we booked a week prior to make sure we were not disappointed. In terms of ambience very traditional Thai decoration with what seems to be teak walls. Food was exquisite like I mentioned above its not your average run of the mill Thai Restaurant, nor is it fusion. The Musaman beef curry along with the wagyu beef salad were the higlights. Extensive wine Collection. Highly recommend, will be back.
