Awful greasy pizza, rude staff and bad service. Used to be good, now I wouldn't feed it to my dog. The staff need a serious attitude adjustment as they are rude and wouldn't know service if it hit them in the face.

Years ago I remember this place as being good. Well cooked thin bases with quality toppings. This time it was poor. Very poor. The seafood pizza had jelly-ish prawns, an old (dry and whiteness on the edges) mussel (did not eat). Three tired calamari rings. The base tasteless and too moist on the topside, do they taste their own food? The 'Quattro' also a bit slimey and just boring. The rocket salad had no dressing. Oops my mistake, we found vinegar at the bottom (?) of the plate.
My friend stood at the counter trying to pay for ten minutes whilst being ignored. He finally said 'do you mind if I pay?' and the answer was 'oh, I wondered what you are doing there'. Great. Non-chefs and non-business people who are having a go. A poor one. Our waitress was very good, only redeeming feature. If you had fond memories of Arthurs, forget them.

Went here with friends for a quick dinner. I arrived late so was an addition to the table. I wasn't offered a chair or anything from the staff, I had to find one myself. I had to wait a while to be offered anything at all and was only given a menu after I asked for it, same goes for cutlery and for a glass of water. I didn't even bother asking for a napkin, I just used my friend's coz I felt like I was 'demanding' too much even though the place was not busy at all.
Pizza was fairly ok. I ordered the margerita coz I wanted something simple, quick and cheap. Its a good individual size. Pizza base was really nice but toppings were average. Too much cheese and not enough herbs or tomatoes on it, I was satisfied but that could just be coz I was starving at this point and any food was food enough. I won't exactly be rushing back again.

Had a great pizza and salad here over the weekend. Went with one other after a film. Had no booking, but that wasn't a problem, we were seated immediately. Should have opted for the second pizza, but was short of time (us not them). Staff were friendly and professional. I'll be back!

We had three medium pizzas and a salad between five gals. It was just enough, though had we not stuffed our faces full of popcorn and rocky road across at the Chauvel prior, probably could have devoured another pizza between us.
The pizzas are hot and crispy, with a good variety of combination and toppings that are generous - but manage to stick to the pizza rather than sliding off onto your plate.

Finally I know why the neon sign outside Arthur’s Pizza on Oxford Street is upside down. No, it’s not a mistake or poor workmanship. It’s just that Mr Arthur wants it that way to be different.
This is one of a quartet of Arthur’s Pizza restaurants in the eastern suburbs the others being in Randwick, Bondi Jt and Maroubra. We arrived after the movies on a busy Saturday night at about 8.00 pm without a booking. But that presented no problem and we were easily able to get a table. It’s a fast turnover place with lots of space so I guess booking isn’t essential.
And this must be one of the most efficient restaurants I’ve ever been to. Despite the crowd, orders were delivered to the table in record quick time. And not only that, the waitress who took our order and the maitre d’ who brought it to the table, were cheerful, polite and helpful. Not bad going when under that sort of pressure.
Four of us dined and we shared two salads, the garden and the mixed leaf and two large pizzas, the Melanz with capsicum and artichokes and the Paddington, which features anchovies and sun dried tomatoes among other things. That was plenty for us and no one went hungry. The salads were ordinary and the plates a little small for the contents, which promptly spilled all over the table, but the pizzas went down a treat. The crusts are thin and tasty and the cheese just melts in your mouth.
To make life a little easier, they’re placed on silver platform-like contraptions making them able to fit comfortably on the table and this is a great idea because tables are small and cramped. We paid $76 for that lot including corkage ($2 per person), a single coffee and a shared tiramisu dessert that was delic.
In my opinion, that’s outstanding value for money given the location, the popularity of the place and the excellent food and service. Arthur’s is busy with a kind of railway-station feel to it. Lots of hustle and bustle, with people coming and going. But the staff handle it all efficiently and politely. Noise levels are high but then this probably isn’t the sort of place you’d linger after your meals so it didn’t bother us too much.
Toilets could do with a bit of sprucing up and don’t you just hate those 1980s-style hand dryers? You can stand there for an hour and your hands still won’t be dry. Come on guys, get some handtowels or upgrade the dryer to a newer model.
We were lucky to find parking nearby but don’t bank on it on a Saturday night and you may need to drive down Oatley Street to find something.
This is a good choice if you’re looking for somewhere to dine after the Chauvel. It’s close by and no bookings are needed.

Ordered delivery last week and it was good enough to warrant ordering again this week, unfortunately, both pizza's were over cooked, tasteless and unsatisfying. Cardboard might have tasted better. The garlic bread was bursting with flavour but was undercooked and, therefore, doughy. Shame they couldn't be consistent because next pizza will be from Love Supreme.

I was a bit sceptical after reading some of the reviews here but had been wanting to try it out so went anyway, with a group of 5 in total. We had an absolute feast of delicious food, and paid for corkage, for only $20 each! They didn't rush us, the food came quickly, and we sat there for ages finishing our wine after we'd finished the food. I will absolutely go back and would definitely recommend.

We got our pizza delivered so I can't say much for the service or the ambience but the guy on the phone and the delivery guy were both pleasant enough.
The 2 pizzas we ordered (one with chicken, sundried tomatoes, camembert, the other with lamb) were delicious. Very well cooked, great ingredients, and plenty of them. We also got a chocolate mousse (a huge serve for the price) and a slice of Mars Bar cheese cake, which was nice but a little too cheesey, thats what made the food score a 9 instead of a 10.
