The prices of mains are up to $35 now, I think, and if you're going to charge that much, it should be good, considering how good the food is in Sydney. My partner liked his salmon, and my lamb cutlet on pumpkin mash was ok. The caesar salad was awful, could have come from a cafeteria, the ambience was awful, a lifeless place on a Saturday night before a concert, it looks like a not very well designed hotel area and there needed to be music.
There were a few diners but it *sounded* empty. We asked for water, and then again, and it finally came after about 5 or 10 minutes. We asked that the salad come at the same time as the main. It came after. The staff seemed young and sad and not so attentive. Blah. That's my word for the experience.
One of the better Hotel Restaurants we have been to. Service was rather good and the food was well presented and tasty. Certainly better than the other hotel restaurants we have been to out Parramatta way.
Had friends staying at the Novotel and dined there with them. Food was very good and certainly on par if not better than many higher end restaurants in the city much to my pleasant surprise. Excellent produce, service was fine though could be fine tuned and the atmosphere quite nice for a hotel restaurant. Very Good.
I had breakfast at the hotel before a conference and it was the best hotel brekkie I've ever had, amazing hash browns with spinach, mushrooms and hollandaise sauce. I am still craving them!! The bircher muesli (my favourite) was excellent too.
I think the restaurant looks old and has little going except location. The food is quite good but presentation is from the '70's. The guy that served us was fantastic. He did magic tricks for the kids and really made the night fantastic.
As a hotel restaurant it is quite good. A little expensive but good all the same. They know there is no competition out there so don't need to upgrade the restaurant. All in all a good place to eat especially as the only other option is the bar downstairs.
We had a terrible, soggy snapper which was the smallest portion I've ever seen. Mould roasted carrots and bland cous cous. I received my meal 1 hour after ordering! What's worse, I was waiting for my husband's meal, and 15 minutes later it hadn't shown up so I ate mine cold, and by myself. ! hour 30 min after ordering, his meal shows up.
I was not offered a free dessert, or even a drink. The service was ok but come on! Give me something to tell people about. For the price I was absolutely disgusted.
Horrible ambience with the foyer right next door and the constant crashing of cutlery. Terrible.
This restaurant offers a great view of the Olympic stadium and unfortunately that's largely where it ends. It is just off the foyer of the entrance to the hotel and has a very open feel to it. While the menu is upmarket the quality and quantity of the food is well below the prices charged. We had fillet snapper which had small bones which we spent time picking out every second mouthful. If you want to spend upwards of $70 per person for a three course meal there is a lot better out there.
I had the salmon steak which was actually cooked medium as I requested which is very rare in restaurants. One of the party had Kangaroo and said it was divine. The desserts were also very nice. There is a lot of variety on the menu, plenty to choose from for all tastes and reasonably priced. 2 courses plus wine came to
$200 for 4 people. The service was friendly and prompt. We will definitely be back!
