Despite the negative reviews below we decided to check this restaurant out as we have walked passed it hundreds of times. Tuesday night 7.30 pm, seated easily with room to spare, waiter was polite and helpful, food started arriving quite quickly but we never felt rushed, dips, salads, falafels, kebbi, haloumi all delicious, the lamb kebab was ever so slightly dry but overall a great meal. I can imagine that, perhaps, on a Friday or Saturday night it might not be perfect but for mid-week, without the belly dancing, there were no problems at all.

Went with a bunch of friends for a birthday. Ordered easy enough but started to became suspicious when "extra" dishes started coming out. Whipped round everyone to check what we'd ordered and approached the senior staff. He started to ask me how would I know what one end of the table ordered when I was sitting down the other end.

Told him I knew because I'd asked everyone and no one had ordered these extra dishes. At the end of the night despite two people counting the cash, we were told we were $8 short. Worst service ever. They certainly do not deserve the customers.

I went here for a birthday celebration recently. Staff were exceptionally rude. We were told "we hadn’t ordered enough food to hold a table for a Saturday night" We had just ordered entree and had intended to order more as the meal went on!! We were then forced into ordering a $40 a head banquet, against our wishes. Then to add insult to injury, because 2 of the other guests were late - we were asked to leave. Oh, and as we were outside waiting for everyone to gather their wines and belongings, the restaurant owner had a go at the birthday girl in the middle of the street. All in all, an awful night which left the birthday girl in tears. NEVER GOING BACK.

We went on Sat. night around 9:00, we were greeted promptly and offered a table. Then the waiter came with our menus and told us we needed to order in a hurry because they close in one hour. We ordered an entree and two meals. A waitress brought out our 2 meals, I asked where the entree was, she said she would go check. Not long after the original waiter slid it on our table and walked away not even looking at us.

I definitely agree with the other reviews that they rush you in and out. The food was ok but over priced for what you get. This is the first time since dining in Newtown that we walked away from a restaurant unsatisfied. Would not go back.

Worst serviced restaurant in Sydney. Admittedly we were a little late (around 9 pm) at arriving, however, it was a Saturday night and this restaurant is in Newtown which is usually buzzing at this time. My boyfriend and I were greeted rudely by the senior staff and told that there was only and hour left of trading, we ordered the banquet and yes the dips were great and so were all the side dishes, however, the meat was dry and overcooked.

The senior staff couldn't wait to get us out of the restaurant so all our banquet was brought out at once, we literally had maximum 1/2 hours to eat. Senior staff was rude as we paid, waste of $100!
Will never eat here again

Loved it but it all happened too quickly!! We went for a friend's birthday, a large table of about 15 people. The banquet style of eating was perfect for the occasion, no fuss with menus etc. and the variety of dishes meant it was easy to please everyone.

The service was prompt and friendly, and the atmosphere was lovely. The only problem was how fast it all happened! The courses came out too quickly to really enjoy everything properly. Will definitely return!

I love this place, I go there every couple of months for a weekend lunch with a friend and we get the mixed platter. Great value, yummy authentic food. Only thing is their ambience is never really that great because there doesn't seem to be many other people which I don't get at all.

Excellent lebanese food, great choice. Have been several times and waiters can sometimes be a bit stand-offish. Unfortunately, if you order several dishes (across a entree/main mix) everything comes out at once and you feel rushed to eat. For those that like to savour one or two dishes at a time this is not the place to go. Good value and good food.
