The service at this restaurant was by far the worst I have ever experienced. The food was fresh and tasty but it was the awful attitudes of the staff that put the worst taste in my mouth.
First of all we were berated by the staff for only having 9 people show up despite booking for 10. Some level of annoyance may have been called for as it was a Saturday night – But to shake one’s head and swear under one’s breath is certainly not the attitude you expect to be shown to a person who has booked the group in to celebrate their birthday! This was despite the fact that our party spent over $400 at the venue anyway.
When the birthday girl asked for some menu’s we were told that there were only set menus as though it had been an offence to even suggest the idea of choosing your own meal. (This was not mentioned to the birthday girl on booking earlier that week)
There were several “incidents” which occurred throughout our couple of hours there that could be reported. However, on giving the staff the benefit of the doubt that they could have just been experiencing a bad night, I will leave you all to make up your own minds.
However, there are dozens of other fantastic restaurants in the area that actually respect patrons and understand that the hospitality industry needs to actually be hospitable. Is service with a smile to much to ask?
I really enjoy the food here, but the service lets it down BIG TIME. I was so annoyed after my meal I decided I would never recommend the place and never visit the place again.
We were a party of 8 and when we were seated we were immediately and rudely told that it was only set menu tonight. Even though we wanted other things on the menu, we settled on the set menu. I wanted their fresh lemonade and was told there was none tonight order something else. Another party turned up about 10 minutes after us and were allowed to order off the menu and they had fresh lemonade!!!!!
My fiancee was fuming. He called over the waiter and asked why did they do that. The waiter raised his voice to all of us and said that it was our choice for the set menu and that we should be happy and not angry to eat good food. I was ready to walk out. But the people I was with just said stay and eat, then never come back. We were in no mood when the bellydancer came out, and she kept harrassing us to dance. We politely said no but she kept persisting and we were so annoyed already we had to tell her to go away.
I really like the fatoush, garlic dip, lemon potatoes and the bbq plate. The hummus was tasteless and the pilaf was ordinary. For $40 a head plus drinks it wasn't worth it.
Great experience to eat on a fri night. Belly dancer for entertainment she got the crowd involved and we were all dancing around the restaurant by the end of it!! Food was lacking flavour but entertainment made up for it.
I have had many Lebanese and I have to say this is one of the worst I have tasted, and very pricey. The service was non existent and the staff was rude. I do not recommend this place, there many better Lebanese restaurants in Sydney.
I recently visited arabella with some friends and I have to say I was extremely surprised! The whole experience was amazing, it was quite busy but we were greeted at the door immediately by a lovely waitress who offered us to our tables, and who also recommended some wine for us which was lovely! As for the meal it was superb we had the arabella banquet and there was so much food it was unreal, entrees, dips, pastry and not to mention the bbq at the end.
I was ready to burst the food was divine and so fresh, we were then given complimentary sweets and coffee and for the price I was very pleased! I will definitely be going back very soon! finally a decent restaurant with good prices!
I went to this place with my girlfriend, we had the banquet for $35. The appetizers were poor, they brought a bowl of potato with lemon and herbs - disgusting. Homous was ok.. kebabs were just kebabs..
This place is certainly split personality....service is attentive and friendly early in the evening, but falls apart spectacularly later on under pressure. Food is admittedly delicious, however, the vegetarian banquet is astoundingly poor value. So bad in fact that non meat eaters should steer clear until they clean up their act. disappointing attitudes deserve no patronage.
A group of four of us ordered the banquet for $35. The food that came out was hardly plentiful, compared to other mezza banquets at lebanese restaurants in Sydney (like the Prophet in Cleveland Street). This place is a rip-off and a joke. The owner is also quite rude.
