This menu has been vigilantly designed incorporating fresh Australian produce, infused with Mediterranean & Asian flavours to give it that modern twist.
I took my 18 yo nephew and 20 yo niece here and as soon as we sat down we were treated as 2nd rate citizens. We waited 20 minutes to be approached asking if we would like water meanwhile "older" clientelle had arrived and were duly served. I will go back again but certainly not for their service.
It's modular food here - you know, the meat/fish module comes at $29+ and then you have to add the rest of the meal by way of salad, other sides etc for which you pay more. Surley at this price a meal should come complete, with salad or some veggies?? So not good value and disapointing food. Great views though and drinks at the bar - next time will try the bistro and get better value.
We regularly eat at this restaurant, and have never had a bad experience. They are always great and the service fantastic. The family recently held an 80th birthday party and everyone was delighted with the food, value and service.
We ordered from the bistro menu - same kitchen, presumably, as the restaurant. The calamari n chips and generic fish n chips were nicely presented but nothing more than you'd find in any suburban pub bistro. Worth returning for the views over the bay, the drinks at club prices and, perhaps optimistically, to see if the restaurant seafood is fresh rather than frozen.
Three of us had dinner here last Sunday evening. The food was quite good, and you buy all your drinks at the bar. It is in a good location with water views. Unfortunately, our evening was spoiled by the noise coming from the crowded bar area. Only screens separate this from the restaurant, and there are wooden floors. At times we actually had to cease our conversation. It was a very windy evening so all the glass doors were closed, maybe it is not as bad when they are open. Certainly not a relaxing evening.
You'll enjoy this restaurant. The food is gourmet and nice although the fettucine was undercooked for our taste. We did order a main from the blackboard which should have been explained that it was a small serving and can be used as an entree (it was very small but at least I had room for dessert). The dessert could have been better as it tasted like a defrosted apple danish with icecream.
The best thing about the venue was the welcoming staff. They were excellent and never flinched an eyelid even when we over stayed our time (accidentally of course). I would go back but would probably be more choosy about my order.
Have been here a few times now and whilst I can't rave about the food. It generally is pretty good. Hard to go past the beer battered flathead & chips with side salad for $21.00 whilst taking in the fantastic waterview. Great place to come during summer for lunch.
Food is good and view is awesome during the day. My friends and I catch up here for lunch every month. The banana brulee is to die for. Saturdays are busy and service is not too bad. Buying drinks at the bar is a bonus as there is no arguments over who drank what when it comes to bill time. The staff should try smiling a little more often and not make it obvious that he's stressed out when it's busy.
