Would recommend this as a good place for a quick meal after work. Tried the prawn risotto (and appreciate being told when ordering that it would be cooked al dente) and the barramundi, both good.

Value was reasonable, allowing for the location being in The Rocks where restaurant meals are not cheap, and service was smooth but nothing out of the ordinary.

We came for dinner here on the 1st of September. The waiter took our order, then asked - aren't you having any wine? This is after we just ordered some each! When he brought the wine, we had to remind him that we had asked him to fix our wobble table and that he should do it before he puts our glasses down. This was a premonition for a terrible meal.

We ordered two pizzas. When they arived and we tried them, it turned out that one was cold, the other - Luke warm. I was shocked! When you pay $30 for a pizza, at least you expect it to be fresh! I got the waiter to come over and take the pizzas away to reheat them. He came back saying they will make us new ones since we sent both pizzas back but that the reason they were cold is because the base is thing and the chef didn't want to overcook it.

Are you kidding me? I was going to ask, but didn't bother. How can a pizza get cold like a lump of fat in the short trip from the kitchen down the stairs to our table. As we waited for food, the maitre d arrived and asked if we have ordered, we said that we had but sent our food back because it was cold, she just said oh OK and walked away - no I m sorry no my appologies, horrendous service.

When the pizzas arrived - wow they were hot! Amazing! The food was extremely disgusting though! The pizzas were covered in onions and drizzled with stupendous amount of BBQ sauce! The worst pizza I have ever had anywhere, and I mean even Denny's! We gulfed it down, as had another function on after this and were ready to leave. Another staff member approached us and asked if the second pizzas were better, we told him our oppinion and asked if the chef has changed, he answered that no and that people were giving them positive feedback on these pizzas.

I would like to point out that I have been to restaurant a number of times, we have done numerous birthdays here and group events. This was the last time I will come here and I will male sure to let all my friends know. I had to end the already horrendous evening by going and getting my own coat, the one that the waiter hung up for me, but never brought back after he took our money for the meal! Absolute shocker! Never again!

Very average all round. Meals were very average. The risotto was weird, not creamy and the bruschetta was missing key ingredients. The proscuitto was not crunchy. The whole experience was very disappointing.

So Appetito. Hmm. From what I know, it was previously called Amoroma and I've held functions there many times before. I was hesitant or lazy to try it after the change, but I went there tonight because there was no other places I could book last minute so Appetito was my final choice.

I've always admired the service of the manager (the nice fella at the register :) - professional and excellent in details. He noticed my dead look at the linguine and asked if anything was wrong but I was just tired. So back to the main point, I could 'see' good service but our waiter was just a bit meh :S careless I would say, flung the plate on the table. The restaurant is busy, hence the quick pasted environment which I find kind of annoying. It's too rushed! I can't really enjoy the meal without noticing the staff literally running and leaping the stairs to the kitchen. But I can't blame them for being so busy.

I liked the food. We ordered Margarita, which had a thin crust - yum. The linguine was simple but clever with the hint of spiciness. Bruschetta could use some olive oil or garlic? The menu is quite limited, but offers a wide range of wines. Other than that, I would recommend going there for functions or a romantic dinner at the rocks. It's also affordable.

This review is based solely on one thing, the gnocchi! The restaurant itself is nothing to rave about, it's quite ordinary, but I had the best gnocchi, and I do love my Italian!

So if you're ever down by the Rocks and want to taste the best gnocchi outside of Italy, here it is. BTW I guess I should say that my business colleague thought his fish superb.

I think that this place is great quality for the price, in fact probably the best in the Rocks. I came here for a hen's night and the staff were great, and the pizzas were lovely, they weren't the greasy kind - they were the really tasty kind with fresh toppings. The wine is fantastic, and also has a good quality to cost ratio. Cocktails are great if you want dinner and drinks before a night out.

4 of us for pre-show pizza. Good service, pizza was equally good and as the restaurant was quiet (it was early) the ambience was very good. Will definitely be back, and will recommend it to friends.

I don't normally write reviews but Appetito was just too good not to! The food was absolutely delicious - best bruschetta I have tasted in a long time! My pizza was thin and perfect. The chocolate mousse cake was so devine I could have gone back for seconds! All the staff we very attentive and we were very well looked after. I will definitely be back to Appetito in The Rocks and will be recommending to all of my friends.
