I've just spent another evening at Annies and nothing compares to the pasta especially the spaghetti pescatore. I've eaten pasta dishes at many other restaurants and I can honestly say that Annies is one of the best.
Our family visits Annies on a weekly basis not only for the great food but also for the great service Andrew and his staff give us.
Well done and keep up the great work.

Another great dinner at Annies last night, the new owner Andrew is very friendly and proud of the changes he has made to the decor, looks welcoming and fresh. Have been here a number of times over the years and have not had a bad meal. Thanks.

Food is very bad, pasta tasted like curry missing the Italiano taste, this place was really good few years back, low grade ingredients "home brand" no word can fix this problem. Don't change plate change the food!

The best italian restaurant in Sydney, food is awesome and service is the best. I have been there three times and three times everything has been great. The value of food is great and they have specials on wed, thursdays $12 pizzas and $14 pastas which is great highly recommended.

This is a very ordinary restaurant, food wise. We ordered an antipasto platter to share and it came out like a DIY pizza. Cheese pizza slices surrounded a couple of handfuls of miscellaneous pizza toppings including chopped salami (complete with plastic skin), a couple of dried out pieces of proscuitto, artichoke hearts and seeded olives. We followed this with a gorgonzola and proscuitto pizza (which was not bad) and Annie's version of calzone which was smothered in a creamy pink sauce - not all that palatable. The waitress advised the sauce was sort of a mix of napoletana and boscaiola sauces with cream. The coffee was strong and hot, the way we like it, so the dinner was not a total loss. I don't think we will be returning any time soon.

I was not impressed, the food is pretty pedestrian, nothing to write home about but worse still, close friends who live in the same street tell me they're pretty annoyed at the amount of rubbish being left out on the street by the restaurant through the weekend, apparently waste is not collected between Friday morning and Monday morning (that's 72 hours!). It may be irrelevant to some but a lot of us will not support a business who does not show respect for the neighbourhood where they work from, no matter how good the food is, people live there.

I waited over an hour for my take away pizzas tonight and although I have come home famished, ready to dig into my dinner, I have taken the time out to write this review out of the sheer digust I feel after having opened the box and seen what this restaurant has decided to palm off as pizza. The base is horrible, like unleavened bread left out in the sun too long, falling apart like dry pita bread - the rocket, which was asked for as "fresh" is cooked, wilted under all the cheese and disappointing. My pizza had no chilli, as requested. My husband's pizza had chicken pieces on it that were dry and tastless. Both pizzas are the same size, even though I ordered one large and one extra large. I'm not sure if I got jibbed or rewarded but I think I'm hoping it wasn't meant as a reward as it's all going in the bin shortly. I would send it to people that are starving out there, but I'm afraid they'd throw it right back in my face. Thanks for nothing Annie's.

The food and service at the new Annie's (under different management) is top rate, and focuses mainly on pizza again. I ordered a xl veggie pizza tonight for take away and it was divine. I only wanted to eat a few pieces tonight but might end up eating the whole pizza! Exceptional fresh base and crust and they threw in a free garlic bread!
I am sorry the current senior staffs at Annie's have to listen to complaints about the two former senior staffs who used to smoke in front of the business all day and scare patrons inside and out. Thankfully, they are but a memory now! You should give them a go again.
Addendum: I have been back to Annie's twice since this first review to eat in the restaurant, and the food has always been sublime. Their Quattro Antipasti starter with four veggie dips is exquisite, a perfect 10, with a good range of beautiful flavors and lots of thin crunchy pizzetta at a surprisingly low price. I have tried risotto, fettuccine, rocket salad, and their haloumi starter, and they were all just about perfect, simple, delicious, and a good value.
I am thrilled that we have a fantastic friendly neighborhood restaurant in North Coogee again.

This was the worst restaurant 2010! We saw great fish specials on the specials board only to be advised that the chef is on holidays and most of the menu would not be served, so you could only order pasta or pizza. The chefs 2nd in charge was in fact an indian chef who had made a chicken mango pasta into a chicken masala pasta. The tastes was awful. Avoid this place if you can, you will only be disappointed. The service was shocking, one guy who had not restaurant ettiquette! Shame cause its in a great position.
