The service seemed quite good. The food on the other hand was overpriced and disappointing. I had a very bland vegetable stack, it looked impressive but the only real flavour was the balsamic!! My partner’s soup was fine. The mains arrived and mine was almost cold. The steak was done to my liking (medium) but was just barely warm (like it had been sitting around for a while).
The plates were cold. The vegetables also cold. They took my meal away and replaced it. The waiter came and offered me a glass of wine "whatever I liked he said" making me think it was complementary. It was on the bill, my wife finished her meal, so it wouldn't get any colder, then mine arrived. Steak this time well done. Not that nice.
A long story short. They deducted the cost of my meal, we paid, we left we will not go back.
An excellent, slightly expensive restaurant with position, position, position on a small bay on the Parramatta river - now surrounded by townhouse/apartment estates. Excellent service, seafood - predominant menu. Wine list slightly pricey but good. Definitely a special occasion venue.
After having a wonderful meal with great service at a large wedding, we looked forward to returning just as a couple. Service was excellent and lucky to have a prime window position for our lunch. Staff were friendly and attentive. Sadly the meals were the let down, bland, poorly cooked and just ordinary. The Blue Eyed Cod was dry and over cooked. Due to the high price for these meals, it has killed our desire to return.
We enjoyed Angelo's last Friday night with about 40 others to celebrate the christening of Ava Maria. The welcome by the staff was very friendly and the service was very attentive lead by the head man Robert. Large groups are always difficult but the team handled the occasion with ease. Nothing seemed to be too much trouble.
The food was superb - a mixture of starters including a fabulous antipasto plate and wonderful very large prawns and salad. Followed by a choice of steak or salmon and a wonderful dessert. The only critism and I am being picky was being given a Crownie in a bottle instead of a glass. This style of restaurant should be glass only. Thank you Angelo's for a wonderful night.
I would have to say that I have always enjoyed Angelos for lunch in particular, not as crowded and the ambience and view are just great. The service has always been excellent and the food, just lovely, worth every cent!
Beautiful restaurant, very romantic setting, great food. A little on the expensive side, but great service makes it worthwhile - can't wait to go back!!
The food (me and my girl had the cod + shared salad) and the service were splendid! The ambience was also great with prime waterfront views - we had a window seat but I don't think there's a bad spot at Angelo's. You can then go out for a waterfront walk afterwards.
You do pay a lot for it though. Expect $35+ per head. Still, I'd definitely go back for special occasions.
There were 8 in our party so got a good idea of some of the food. The Garlic Bread was cooked just right. Salads were fresh and crisp with a lovely dressing. The de-boned Duck leg was delicious.
Disappointed to only get 5 scallops for my entree instead of the usual half dozen. The Atlantic Salmon Medallions were very small strips but cooked nicely (at least I was asked how I'd like it). All the desserts were well presented and the staff were attentive. A beautiful setting with outside seating as well as air conditioned inside.
