Amici is a busy Italian that is a favourite amongst many locals. At Amici you can expect efficient service, authentic Italian dishes that are fresh and familiar with some a traditional touch.
When we most recently visited, we were seated upstairs and unfortunately it was very noisy making it hard to have a conversation without having to shout. The waitress was busy but never missed a beat with our orders. All was as expected with our meals however; there were a couple of items worth mentioning.
We had the duck ragu regional speciality which in itself was a great dish, especially on a cold winters night unfortunately, it was let down by the orange zest that overpowered the flavour of the rest of the dish. The calzone was filled with great fresh flavours, was garnished with fresh basil.
We left on a high note with an affogato that was served with a lovely creamy vanilla gelato. So all in all Amici is your local Italian serving up fresh, well crafted, traditional Italian dishes and is worth a visit if you are in the area.
Fantastic food, beautiful and friendly service, original food, margherita pizza and fresh italian basil is a must. Highly recommended but be sure to book.
Just went for dinner with some friends and we had a wonderful time, the service was spot on, Marco is a delightful host and the food is always fantastic. Tonight was highlighted by a wonderful lamb loin with mushrooms done to perfection and a snapper fillet with olives and red peppers was fantastic, Pizza totally amazingly delicious, I love the margarita. This is a great restaurant for a casual Italian meal. Highly recommended!
After ordering basic pizzas at 6.40pm on a weeknight, they arrived at 7.50pm. Others who had arrived after us were served long before us. When questioned, I was rudely told that it was to be expected, nevertheless, a close-by table had paid their bill and left before we were served and we had arrived at least 15 minutes before they had.
A polite and simple explanation could have alleviated the situation but we were treated by the proprietor with arrogance and disdain. We have been loyal to this restaurant for several years because we enjoy the food, despite often less than ordinary service, but after this experience we will never return.
I have never seen a waiter be so rude to a customer before tonight. The senior waiter be-littled and insulted a customer and then questioned customer loyalty. Although I have been going to Amici for some time, I would never go back, it was far better when the Maggio's owned it.
My favourite restaurant, I go here quite regularly and am never disappointed. Marco is a great host, the service is always good and the food is fantastic. The pumpkin ravioli and the margarita pizza are the best. Highly recommended but be sure to book.
I always order the seafood linguini. It comes in a foil and paper package steaming hot from the pizza oven with tender linguini with a lovely tomato-based seafood sauce including scampi - delicious! Burnt butter pasta is also great and vegetarian.
This is a great restaurant for a casual and appealing Italian meal. Highly recommended!
We are a family that enjoys going to Amici regularly. The food is fantastic and we are always so well looked after. We find that the menu offers great variety and is so reasonably priced
Our third visit tonight and again, a wonderful experience. Marco is a delightful host and the food is always fantastic. Tonight (which included sample platters for both entree and dessert) was highlighted by a wonderful veal cutlet with mushrooms done to perfection and a snapper fillet with olives and red peppers that was divine.
The pear poached in limoncello was exquisite for dessert and the mocha cremem brullee was just superb. Love, love, love this place!
Pizza totally amazingly delicious. Have never particularly liked cured meats on my pizza, but I was won over by the spinach, tomato and brescola pizza.
The bases are perfectly crunchy on the outside and chewy on the inside. I have never been so happy with my pizza.
