Love love, love it! We have just come home from an evening at Amazon. Living just around the corner, I was eagerly awaiting its grand opening and have been back a number of times since.
Far better than mere pub grub, Amazon offer service, theme and tucker at reasonable prices. I'm not a "steak" person, but my sirloin was cooked to perfection, the mash was creamy, and portions were generous but not ridiculous (as if sometimes the case with steakhouses). Amazon is one of the few places I trust to cook me a steak that I will love.
The ambience is fitting, music great, and I can't wait for summer as I know this place will really come into its own when it's more than 10 degrees outside. Looking forward to working my way through the menu! Keep up the good work guys.

We came here on Friday night (5 people) and it was fantastic - really something different in Newtown. The food came out fairly quickly and was beautiful, the menu is extensive and there is something for everyone (we even had a vegetarian with us who was happy) and the staff are very attentive. I can't believe the bad reviews on this restaurant, as I've been here now three times since it opened six months ago, and each time it seems to get better.
The steaks we ordered were all cooked perfectly (I have mine blue which many restaurant don't seem to believe in!), we also ordered the stuffed mushrooms which were really tasty and filling, the salt and pepper squid which was great and tangy too. It's a really fun, comfortable place, nice staff and we will definitely be back.

The food is fantastic. Generally speaking (from my frequent visits), it is quickly cooked and presented in a good manner. The taste is divine, steak that just melts in your mouth. The ribs are something else too.
Also, one of the BEST MOJITOS I have ever had. Simply perfection in a glass. Most of the cocktails are impeccable, though surely you don't visit a steakhouse for the cocktails.
Great intimate service, even in the busy times. When there is a birthday, the whole staffs get quite involved and providing good laughs and entertainment for all diners. Cosy and warm in the winter, the numerous heaters creating a blanket of warmth from the chilly Sydney weather. Definitely recommended.

Very disappointing dinner. My partner ordered the king of jungle (the 500g steak) and I ordered the rack of ribs. The steak was about 1cm thick and 15cm long, a bit like a large piece of minute steak. We ordered medium and the steak was well done. My ribs appeared to be overcooked/old, it is falling off the bone but the meat was not tender, it was dry and tested old. BBQ sauce is overwhelming also.
Service was initially very quick, as there were only 2 tables full when we arrived. However, the waitress who served us didn't even know how to open a bottle of wine properly. We brought a nice bottle of 2001 vintage red wine and I watched in horror as she shaked, twisted and pulled the cork out eventually with the wine balanced on her raised knees.
Once the restaurant fills up, it was very hard to get the wait staff's attention. When she asked how was our steak, we told her that the steak was overcooked and the rib was dry. Next thing we know, the staff arrived at our table and says did someone wants to speak to him? Again we told him that the steak was not well cooked and he said sorry and then presented us with our bill.
So for a steak that was not eaten, a rack of ribs that was not tender, and 2 corkage charges, we were charged $74. Definitely not a place I would go back or recommend any of my friend to try.

The atmosphere of the restaurant was great. The Ribs were huge and really tasty great value for the money and it was a great night out.

Great food, friendly service. The ribs rocked. Loved the decor, and the chatty little parrot outside was too cute. We'll go back.

I have just stepped in the door after visiting this establishment. Mind you, I had to stop off at a kebab shop for dinner because I had to send my meal back due to the miniscule portion provided, even after waiting 1 hour and 15 mins for the order to arrive.
The meal did arrive and my wife's steak was cooked OK, (her words, not mine). My steak however was something similar to that which apart from it being burnt to a crisp (I requested medium) it wasn't even a steak, it was two bits of meat that wouldn't have fed an infant, even if they weren't on solids..
Apart from the ultra tacky decor, that just doesn't suit the area, I can't believe that I had to wait 1 hour and 15 mins to get a steak from a restaurant that only had two other covers when we walked in. After my blatant staring at the waiter when it hit the 45 min mark, and we had already polished off the bottle of wine we had bought with us, I was offered a free glass of house wine.
I did send the meal back and had to watch my wife sit through her meal and then had to grab the kebab, oh the shame. I have never felt so compelled to write in to any forum or review or anything before but as I told the people that were checking out the menu on the window when I walked out 'Don't bother'.

Food was awesome, the feta and baba-ghanoush garlic breads amazing. The scotch fillet was perfectly cooked medium-rare, and the sides were great (but wasn't fussed with the salsa on a plate with a cream sauce). Had to ask for glasses quite a few times, but other than that the service was great.

Very good restaurant, I took my family there this week and we had a great time. The restaurant has a great feel about it and the ambience is warm and welcoming. The staff we really helpful with the menu and explaining a few of the dishes. Having a young family sometimes we shy away from restaurants that don’t have a kids menu (these guys don’t). However, there is plenty on the menu that the kids can eat. There are some great combos and I can highly recommend the pork ribs, they are fantastic. We’ll be back I can highly recommend.
