After what I found to be a mediocre experience, the owner, Javier, rang the same day and offered to treat myself and partner a free dinner with drinks. He took my initial review to heart and really values. Giving patrons a good time. I have not gone yet but I am sure it will be terrific.

We absolutely love eating here anyday, with friends, just on a date, the vibe is good for either!

The food is tasty and authentic (the crusted mushrooms and chicken paella are my fave) the service is very friendly and fast and the staff make you feel very welcome, oh and the sangria is pretty delish too! When we went this Sunday they had live flamenca show with dancers and music.. the atmosphere was fun and vibrant and really made for a fun night out rather than just your average dinner.

Highly recommended.

Nice joint, great friendly service, but the food is pretty average for what you pay (4 of us $460 and not gorging at all). Tastier food at better prices close by in Bondi, so prob won't go back.

Making the decision to have my birthday dinner at Alonso's was an easy one simply because most of my friends are Spanish/Latinos and we all love sharing food whenever we're together.

I'd have to say, though, that my birthday dinner was made extra special because the restaurant manager, the bar manager, and all the staff who were serving our table at Alonso's made sure that we were all very well taken care of since they knew that we were also celebrating my birthday.

From the moment I (and my guests) arrived at the restaurant, the bubblies, the pitchers of sangria, and the food were served immediately. The tapas that we shared were hand-picked by the manager based on his favourites and they were exactly according to our tastes as well. The drinks were also served according our individual tastes which varied from Spanish beer to Australian wines.

I'd have to say that the service was impeccable and the staff were very engaging as well with their customers which is, in my honest opinion, what other restaurants lacked.

Overall, my experience at Alonso's was superb. I couldn't have asked for a better birthday dinner, it was like having my birthday dinner at my grandma's house where everyone's served home-made food and everyone's happy.

I visited this new restaurant a few weeks back through a Cudo offer. I had been to the other restaurant before and wasn't very impressed from the service my table received there.

However, although my experience with this new restaurant started off a bit shaky, it finished as a real treat!

Firstly, it was a definite struggle trying to get a booking made. By chance the week of my man's bday was when my booking was successful. We were both looking forward to the evening out and got all dolled up, so imagine our shock when we arrived and the manager informs us that they have no record of our booking and the restaurant was absolutely booked out!

Moments from our bday dinner plans being completely ruined, the manager must have seen the sheer disappointment painted across my face and asked us to go somewhere for a drink and when we return in 20 minutes there will be a table ready for us. What a gem!

As promised, the table was ready and we ordered off the wide menu to our hearts content.

The grilled quails was tender (although they went a bit heavy with the olive oil), the chorizo was succulent and flavoursome, meatballs melted in your mouth and the potatoes with garlic sauce were absolutely to die for! We polished off every last dish. The several tapas dishes we ordered with the 3 jugs of sangria, the bill exceeded the $100 Cudo deal value by $74! The food and drink was worth every penny!

There was a real festive vibe in the restaurant and you could tell everyone was enjoying themselves. The service was efficient and friendly, although we had a young gentleman serve the food who I believe must have been a rookie as he mixed up our orders with another table a couple times and was asking us how we found certain dishes as he has yet to try it himself. His inexperience was charming as he was very pleasant and put in the effort.

I'll be back here again. I will be trying their paella on my next visit.

Had an amazing night at this restaurant. The back part is a little noisy as others have pointed out, get a table at the front and you won't have a problem. The food was fantastic as were the cocktails but above all the service was outstanding. A waitress with a genuine smile is a rare thing, whats more it never left her face the entire night, thank you for making our night so enjoyable.

Food is good in here but totally overpriced. Expect to pay $16 for a small dish so if you re hungry you will need to spend a lot of money. Atmosphere was good and service also however its just a bit of a rip-off...

Outstanding venue - professional waitstaff - best value for Spanish delicatesses in Sydney. Wide range of tapas, great wine selection and a stunning venue that made my birthday party an incredible event. The very friendly and mostly Spanish waiters served us in time with charme and personality even though the restaurant was crowded. I will come back, for sure! Thanks heaps.
