I worked in the area some years ago and yes the service before was a pleasure may be because I befriended one of the staff, but with out say this place has fantastic coffee and the sandwiches are exceptional. I still travel a long way now to have a coffee during work here and occasionally when I'm on my way to the city I go out of my way for coffee. So far the service has been good, not as personal as before but still good. I recommend it to every one as I take all my friends there for a sip.
Great Value!!! Sandwiches are delicious. Service can be a let down.. if you are a regular, service should be ok, but ocassionally still frustrating. Fantastic coffee and iced mocha.
Wow, this is the second time I've been in since their re-vamp, how disappointing! I won't go into specifics, but there is a real lack of management here. Perhaps if an actual manager was employed, the staff would do something! I've never been to a cafe with so much staff employed and so little work happening particularly when the place was so full! Won't be back.
This is the best place to get a great coffee in the whole Alexandria/Roseberry district. The customer service could improve a bit. The coffee is certainly of a legendary status and is definitely worth visiting and WAITING for. The constant buzz of people streaming in examplifies the reputation Allpress possess, however, sometimes I get angry that a smile is so hard to find. I have been going to Allpress for nearly a decade and the coffee has always been great and vibrant and the staff generally remember what coffee the clients drink. Great reputation as far as taste is concerned.
Whilst I don't drink coffee, my husband is addicted and rates every coffee he ever drinks and this one was a 9.5 out of 10 in his books. I love their meatball sandwiches and fresh juice, but their sweets are also fantastic, you must try the chocolate brownie! The wait staff are friendly, but run off their feet most of the time so expect to have to get their attention to get served when its busy, but its worth it. Only wish there were more of these types of cafes in and around Zetland!
I am really sorry but after all the good wraps I heard about this place, I went to Allpress and I must admit, they were really busy. So I waited in line, and waited and waited and when I got to the front I asked the lady for 2 (black) coffees and she asked if we were taking away. I said no and she said to take a seat and order from a waitstaff. So after 10 minutes in line we were told to sit down and guess what, there was definitely no wait staff, until 5 minutes later a young waitress walks over with two coffees for another table.
On her return I called out to her politely but she didn't seem to hear. I thought that by the time we would order from her could take another 10 minutes so we decided to line up again for take aways. (another 10 minutes) and then the coffee had very little crema or taste profile as well. Sorry, we were very disappointed about this experience. Great setup but its was all show, and no go.
A fantastic place!!! Great place, great food and the wait staff who served me was excellent!! (By the way, I don't work there or know anyone who works there and don't get any commissions from them (unfortunately!)) When I got there, I was pleasantly surprised to find that it has just been renovated about 2 weeks ago (it was closed for 7 weeks apparently when I asked them). I have previously been there before may be for about 3 to 4 times.
The cafe used to be much smaller and I do agree with some of the other reviews that service wasn't all that great back then, but this time I was very happy with their service!! I had a sandwich and a coffee, both very nice! The sandwich that I had cost $7.50 (a bit on the pricey side), but it was yummy. The coffee was nice too! I will definitely be back.
This place is heaven on earth! Fantastic coffee and food at a consistently reasonable price. Only fault is the lack of parking (and the parking cops who know how desperate we can be to get a coffee!). Ps And I have never had a problem with the staff being rude, busy maybe but never rude.
