I have been to this restaurant a couple of times. I will not be returning. We went with a group of 10 for tapas, having pre-booked and informed the staff that we were having tapas. When we arrived, they refused to give us any tapas and instead demanded that we order from the $50 set menu as it was a Friday night and "the kitchen would tear up our order if it was just tapas". We waited for five minutes for the other members of our table to arrive and then promptly left.
Before we did, they tried to charge us $60 corkage for the bottles of wine opened at our table in preparation for dinner. Dreadful show.
Here I was considering if someone was playing a trick on me when all three of our tables mains had arrived, only for mine to be another 23 minutes. After 15 minutes of friends being polite, their meals were better to be eaten than to remain cold.
When my main arrived, what a joke. A pathetic attempt at a couple of sausages with sauce and the like. While the great company allowed for the evening to run smooth, the table next to us with a hens night provided the real entertainment.
To end the night, the short black I ordered didn't arrive in an espresso style cup. When I took it back, I was told that was. To someone who reviews coffee shops - major mistake. Overall, a place to go for some fun at your expense, and with the high prices, it's a great expense.
They rock. Yumm meal, generous meal size, variety, smiley waitresses, pretty dancers, good atmosphere and etc will make your night. Try to book it first for weekend night and enjoy the time with your buddies/family.
We had a great time. The staff were really helpful with explaining the menu. We loved the Tapas and pealla, and the special dessert - wow! Will be taking my parents there when they come over.
Some strange flavour combinations, and a little pricey considering the portion sizes. Our waitress brought our table the wrong food out twice and just laughed and said 'this always happens'. Was expecting SO much more, won't be back, and won't be recommending. Shame.
If you're in Manly anytime, this is definitely worth a visit. Share some tasty tapas with friends or go for the mains if you're feeling hungry. Weekend evenings are fun when there's a Spanish guitarist or flamenco dancers for entertainment. I'll definitely be back again soon.
Our family enjoyed a Saturday lunch here. The food was great but we felt the portions were quite small for the price. Waiting staff were very helpful and friendly. The seating space was generous and the open front let the beach air in.
I love this place. The food is great. A loud place, especially when the dancers come on stage and get going. If you don't like being dragged up to do a bit of Spanish dancing, sit way back from the stage. My wife and myself keep going back. Not a place for a romantic dinner though. Get a group together and work through the tapas.
Fill up your glasses and enjoy a lively night out. You had better book on the weekends though, as you will more than likely be disappointed if you don't. This is a loud Spanish place that really works well. We have not found anything on the menu that we don't like. Enjoy!!!!
The food, service and atmosphere is lovely. The banquet menu was great with plenty of food. We went on a week night but I've been past on weekends where there's Flamenco dancing and it looks lively but personally I rather a quieter meal.
We went for the Banquet menu on a Saturday evening and frankly it wasn't up to much. The entrees were the best part of the meal with the Olives stealing the show. The mains were pretty bland and there wasn't really enough for everyone to be satisfied, and the dried up piece of coconut cake served with a sorry looking sparkler to the birthday girl had us howling with laughter.
It was poor value considering the quality of the food. On the up side the staff were mostly good although we did feel a bit hurried and the flamenco dancing was good fun. On the basis of the food we vowed never to return, however, having read some of the good reviews here we may just give it one more go, maybe.
