Another Persian restaurant with potential but, unfortunately, let down by poor service.

Have been there a few times, generally great food offered in large servings. In that regard the value for money is great. Normally the 'doogh' (yoghurt drink) tastes great but this time it was awful, made me want to throw up. Hopefully it was just a once off.

Above all the service was lousy. Slow and unaccommodating. Unfortunately, typical of every Persian restaurant I have been too. If somebody opened up a Persian restaurant and spent a little more on extra staff who focused on Customer Service, they'll be onto a winner.

Not a very favourable experience here, and I can see why few people go here.

The food itself was okay but the service was atrocious. Especially at the end when I was slugged a secret 10% surcharge on my credit card, when there were no signs or indications in the menus that this would be the case.

Most likely I won't come back, and would rather go to other restaurants nearby which have significantly better service.

Positive experince. The food seems to have improved since our last visit at the end of 2010, good service and nice and clean. The Barg is still better at Darband (also in Auburn) but for hygiene, cleanliness of the premises and importantly the staff, Alborz is the only way to go for Auburn.

Service is horrible! They can barely speak/understand English. After you have made your order, you cannot see anyone around? You have to peek inside the kitchen to call a waitress.. even just to ask for water!

Ambience - there's None! Value - too expensive! Most-e-khiyar - $6. Menu - half the food on the menu is not available! Why list them?! Food tastes good so if one is just looking for good food, this should be alright.

This place is not open Mondays or when ever they feel like take a day off apparently. They were supposed to cater for my work tomorrow and confirmed they would be available for my order today. I had to drive there to check the sign said 'open' but no one was there. Not reliable or suitable if you're trying to make an impression at work, you're better off somewhere else.

Pretty good food, better than the last Persian place we tried. Having lived in Iran for a while I crave for an extensive Iranian menu with homestyle dishes. My mum, who is not Iranian, I feel still makes the best Persian dishes comparatively. Will return to try some of the other dishes.

The best Persian food in town compare to the other handful of Persian restaurants, even though the location is not perfect but food and its value are sensational.

One of the Better Persian Restaurants in Syd. Definitely worth a look. Since first trying Alborz back in May, been back at least once very 2 weeks. Great food!

It doesn't have a good location, it's upstairs in a building that doesn't have much in it, you could easily walk past it on the street without noticing it, or bothering to go upstairs to have a look in it. Its a persian restaurant, which to me means a lot like turkish food. This website says ice cream place, but it only has 2 options for ice cream.

The food itself though is better than your average Turkish kebab shop. The rice that came with it was good and the meat was nice. The bread too was good.
Ambience: well at least its clean and has a view of the street, though there is nothing to look at. Service was ok, I didn't know what was happening with my change and I didn't get any take away cutlery nor asked for them.

Value: its what you expect to pay. Overall it was a good experience.

We go to Alborz quite often. Beautiful food! Very fast and efficient service. I often go in with my husband and they tend to speak Farsi and only Farsi and maybe it would be more polite if they spoke in a language I could also understand but otherwise all good.
