This is a recently discovered hidden gem. One of the best Japanese restaurants on the North Shore and it's BYO and doesn't have the high prices that seem to go with the top end Japanese restaurants. Two visits now and both very good.

There are several good Japanese restaurants on the lower North Shore and this is one of the best. Food is very good. Although the soft shell crab was not the best I have had but maybe it is because it is out of season. Presentation of the food is very good and service was excellent. I like the fact that is is not too noisy and you can sit Japanese style or western style whichever you prefer. You know Japanese restaurants are going to be good if there are Japanese people eating there and this was the case.

The place seems to never be over-crowded, even when it's full. This probably has something to do with the spacious setting of the tables and also because the restaurant is situated off the main street (Broughton St) of Kirribilli and not many people know of it unless they hear about it or locals to the area. That said, you may wish to book ahead just in case as the tables normally have reserved signs on them, particularly on a Saturday.

The restaurant has a quiet, comfortable and pieceful feeling about it. Although the food may be slightly expensive, it is probably one of the best Japanese places that I've eaten at. Our food reached our tables very quickly. The service was very attentative and exceptionally polite.

Some of the tables have a peculiar seating style which is unique in itself - you'll know what I mean if you go there. However, "normal" tables for two are also provided.

Can't think of anything wrong about this place. I've been here several times and I'm yet to be disappointed. Definitely coming back.

I have been here 4+ times and plan to keep going back even though I live on the other side of the harbour. Extremely fresh ingredients, the sashimi plate is very good as is the mixed tempura platter. Great presentation. There is no ambience though even though they have 'authentic' Japanese tables at the level of the floor.

The wait staff are helpful and friendly. Recommended.

This is a great little place to eat. The staff are friendly and helpful, and the food is fresh and tasty. So happy there is another decent restaurant in Kirribilli!

Very hesitant albeit attentive staff, was the only soft spot on what was a great night out for the six of us. Beautifully cooked food. Generous portions, and an interested and watchful owner should make this place work well in the future. We understand that it is about one month new and they are still having some teething problems (staff skills and experience for example), but it scores very well for us in the food and value areas.
