Do Not order a margarita, they are priced like an expensive cocktail but are a cheap pre-mix which is overly sweet and has nearly no alcohol. Also the food is bland and tiny like other people have said here.
Dined here on Friday night with 3 friends and we got seated straight away even though we didn't have a booking. The place was quite busy so was hard to get the waiters attention at first. Great atmosphere though. The food is amazing! 3 of us ordered the prawn Molcajete dish which was so incredibly tasty. It was so well presented and so full of flavour. Would definitely go again.
I went here with a group of mates on a saturday night. The atmosphere was fabulous and we had a great time. The food was a bit disappointing though. I love mexican, and I thought it was pretty bland and the servings were small. There was a yummy spicy prawn main, which I loved, and the guacamole was sensational. I always want to leave a mexican restaurant full of rich flavours and plenty of food, so I was a bit bummed out. Agave is a lot of fun though, it's loud and colourful and the staff are great.
I've been here several times and each time is amazing. I always find myself ordering more than I normally would because the taste is fantastic and varied. The staff are very helpful, and the drinks (especially the Mojito's) are better than anywhere is Sydney. Will definitely come her all the time!
Went to Agave on sat night after being told good things about it from friends and was really impressed with the night. I had a few delicious mojitos and the barramundi fish in a tomato, olive and caper sauce. It was fabulous and the staff weren't intrusive which is something I appreciate. Overall a great night, I'll be back.
I've been to this place a few times and the food is always amazing, great margaritas and really any cocktail is very good. I've read a few bad reviews and to be honest I don't know why as the food is real mexican food real taste. I've been to Mexico many times and this place "Agave" is as good as in Mexico. I also have mexican friends and they love going to Agave. We always have a great experience, love the food and the place. Enjoy eating here.. Mmmmmmm
Had dinner at Agave last night and was very impressed. It was quite being a public holiday Monday and the service was very good. The real winner for me was the food. Incredibly tasty and not laden with melted cheese as so many Mexican dishes are. I'm vegetarian and it was the tastiest food I have eaten in a long time. My other half was also impressed with the meat dishes. A little bit pricey but was worth it and definitely will be going back.
This was possibly the worst meal I have even had. I ordered what was described as the Lamb with some mysterious spices. It arrived in a bag, that look like someone had just did you know what in a bag and give it to me. The actual “LAMB” was a chop, that would have cost them $1 from Woolworths. They charged me $30 for it. It was so chewy and had so much fat that I would eat it. The staff there didn’t know what was going on and much to my dismay the place was packed. I must be missing something because this was terrible! Never again.
Appalling, a huge disappointment! My partner and I ordered margaritas which were clearly made from a premix cocktail base, instead of mains we decided to order a number of entrees for tapas style eating and all them were appalling, the absolute worst empanadas we have ever eaten. The waitress was lovely and the decor is pretty cool, however, the guy behind the counter (assumedly the senior staff) was gruff, rude and aloof.
Altogether a very poor experience. If you are in the area and want Mexican try one of the quick eat in Mexican places popping up all over the place, for the price of an entree at Agave you get a pretty reasonable feed and an ice cold Corona.
