I've been to Ace Noodles many times and have both eaten in the restaurant and ordered take away. Each time they have catered to my many allergies and have been great. I always get the fried rice with BBQ pork, yummy! When you eat in, it can take a while to get your food, so pre-order if you can. Overall nice place.
Despite the name, the noodles here are not ace. Having eaten here twice with a group of Chinese friends, the general consensus is that the fried noodles aren't very authentic (all seem to be cooked in oyster sauce!). However, the wonton soup noodles were fine. The only dish I'd really recommend is the tofu salad.
Ace Noodles is a good St Leonards staple - quick service, well presented food and although the prices have risen recently, it still represents pretty good value. The food quality is well above other noodle bars in the area so as with most things in life. You get what you pay for!
Food: Standard Asian; not exceptional. they have 4 types: Noodles, Stir Fried, Curry and Salads. I liked the self service chili bar and Water+Cutlery section.
Ambience: Nice & neat; rectangular shape. nice dark wood table and hip seats. no views outside. but on busy hwy.
Service: You order & pay at counter then you're given an electronic ticket that buzzes when the food is ready. no waiter interaction; they clean after you've left.
Value: They don't have lunch specials. prices have gone up lately. Mains from $10 now. not competitive with the business environment of lunch specials. nevertheless still busy.
