I was with 5 of my besties and we all love good food experiences, good service with knowledge and an atmosphere that brings it to life. Plus the wine list added to the experience. Were we in Sydney or Italy? Great night.

The location to other bars and pubs after dinner is fantastic too, just a short walk across the road to The Victoria Rooms (for an exy teapot cocktail) or The Green Park (if you fancy a more casual beer after).

The only downside to A Tavola was that it was a little dark for our 40+ eyesight, we had to download a 'torch' app to read the menu but I guess that added to the atmos. We'll be back.

Great food. Beware of where you are sitting on the big table in the front, if it’s by the bar or kitchen be prepared for continuous wait traffic rushing by you. Also the restaurant wasn't bust yet they seated us right opposite another couple? Finally our waiter thought he was too good to be a waiter, perhaps, he should find a job elsewhere.

When we heard that this was the Best italian restaurant to go to, they Weren't Wrong! from entrees to mains and dessert everything was fantastic and tasted Awesome! nothing to fault! The service was great! we even got free lemon shots, the pappardelle lamb pasta was to die for! we ordered one of each on the entree menu as well as the dessert menu, the mocha mousse cappuccino dessert was Very Good! will be coming back for Sure!

We are from the States and travel extensively in Italy. Only having a few days in Sydney, we knew we had to choose our Italian restaurant carefully. We stumbled across A Tavola and we were absolutely wowed. As we enjoyed a glass of prosecco, our knowledgeable waiter described our culinary journey for the evening.

The wine list was Italian only and limited but we selected a classic Barbaresco that suited our meal nicely. My wife started with a burrata con uva which was imported and fresh, tasty and garnished nicely. I had the terrine di maiale. It was a mixture of smoked and fresh pork that melted in my mouth, neither salty nor gelatinous. We both had the pappardelle con ragu d'agnello.

The hand made pasta was cooked to perfection and the meat sauce carried my taste buds right back to Tuscany. The wine opened up nicely, and we enjoyed it straight through the dolce, a cremino di cioccolato that was a culinary delight. I was especially happy to see an abundant list of amari, so the evening ended with a great digestivo. If you are in Sydney, don't miss it!

Our experience here was really disappointing. Not only was our entrée bland and tiny, it sat at our table half eaten for quite some time before the waiter picked it up, not asking if it was ok. The mains were extremely lacking in flavour and did not have the authentic Italian flavours they claim to have. I have had better pasta dishes at humble little local cafés.

We even managed to get an ‘accidental’ charge on our bill for someone else’s drinks. Overall, the situation was handled poorly, the food was far less than ordinary, and the prices were more inflated than Kanye West’s ego. I'm not sure how this place earned a chef hat.

A mixed bag. Went for a 6.30 booking so we were the only ones in the place when we arrived. It got busier but lacked much atmosphere.

Several of the group went for the ragu pappardelle as a main course, based on the recommendation of the waiter. Others went for the chicken pasta dish. The ragu was lovely, the chicken was shocking, small portion and tasteless.

We ordered a salad for the table and it arrived as most people finished their main course. Dessert was ok. Wine was ok. Service was slow to ok. We won't be going back.

This place has still got it. Its not the standard 'home-cooking' italian eatery that you may find in Haberfield or thereabouts, its a lot more up market and has the prices to match.

Four of us ordered a pasta each from their specials board and were not disappointed with the freshness and the flavours. With one bottle of a $50 italian red, the total cost was $190. There was an energetic vibe although quite noisy while the service was quick and friendly.

We expected much more better than what we had. One of my friend had a special of the day that he was very happy with his meal. But all others not too much happy like as me. Anyway we will give another chance.

What a fantastic find! after making a spur of the moment decision at 5 pm on saturday night to eat out, we rang and rang around until the great staff at a Tavola were kind enough to squeeze us in! hand a beautiful entree of artichoke flowers and delicately sliced beef carpaccio, had a beautiful tangy and summer-y feel to it. Handmade pappardelle with beef ragu, the beef had been cooked for about 6 hours with just the right amount of fat and just melted in my mouth!

The fresh tomato and herbs complimented the dish to perfection. Complimented with the smoothest glass of italian red wine. Dessert was just as exciting, had the tiramisu in a scotch glass with proper sponge biscuits. Shared a cannoli which was stuffed with cream cheese and a side of red wine mulled pear and chocolate mouche, strong flavours all perfectly balanced.

Such a warm ambience to the place, really feels like another world away if you're seated in the bank. Service was top notch, we were well looked after and had excellent suggestions. I will certainly go back!
