My husband and I stumbled upon this restaurant after a show in town and were pleasantly surprised. We ordered soft shell crab, udon noodle soup and hand-rolled sushi, the taste was authentically Japanese, which is very hard to find in Sydney. Waitstaff were very attentive and polite. The decor and ambience was great. I would recommend 707 to anyone who wants authentic Japanese dishes.

My husband and I went during the week for a buffet lunch and found the food to be terrific! The waitress was lovely and requested that she bring out a sampler of everything, half way through her sampler we had to say STOP! We had eaten way too much already. Was disappointing that we didn't get to try everything on the menu. We also couldn't fit in dessert which is always a shame. Not bad value for money, very fresh food and terrific service I would say.

After reading the reviews here I was worried about going to this place, but my friend who works nearby said it was a good place to eat as she thought the owners were really nice. (to me its the food that is more important but anyway).

So on a Friday evening, a small group of my friends came here for dinner and while the decor is nice (black and red walls, thick wooden tables and chairs), the service was very slow and food was average. The restaurant was only 1/3 full and it was impossible to get anyones attention, but when we did they were polite and friendly.

The food was nothing to brag about, sashimi was fresh enough but small sizes, their side salads were drenched in their special mayo sauce and katsus were a tad too salty. Since it wasn't busy the food came out in reasonable time, and we were able to hear each other when we were talking but I would probably go somewhere else next time for dinner.

Looks like I'm going against the grain when I say that I enjoy eating here. My girlfriend and I have been a few times now, and have not yet been disappointed.
We always get one of the scallop entree thingies, which are delicious, and the teriyaki chicken katsu is very good too.

The servings are a little on the small side, and I find that I always need an order of rice (which doesn't come with the main) to be satisfied. Its quite cheap, especially compared to other places in the area, our last meal there cost around $50 for both of us, compared to $120 at the outback.

I'll have to admit that most times we've been here were for lunch, and it wasn't busy at the time, so maybe other reviewers had to put up with rushed service, as it seems to get quite busy on weekend nights.

I have just been to this place tonight for my daughter's birthday dinner. I actually read the reviews below but nevertheless decided to give it a go. This is the most bizzare and awful buffet restaurant I've been to. What was really pathetic was their policy of penalising for any food that people could not finish eating. The staff there have attitudes, and want people not to leave even a small portion of unpalatable food.

I feel ripped off. I suggest not to try a buffet menu here unless you can eat like a sumo wrestler even if foods are of substandard. This is one of the most disappointing places for having a dinner. Unless they change the food, kitchen staff, attitudes, menus etc, I doubt that they will remain in business for long. Maybe, Gordon Ramsey should come and rescue this place.

Was delighted at first to see a new Sushi and Salad Buffet Restaurant. However, that was short lived as this place does not live up to it's pretty fitout and decor. Unfortunately, the nicely dressed waitress in kimono will just not do. The food barely scrapes in as edible, sushi served was not fresh and one can get better sushi from a CBD express sushi outlet after the lunch rush.

The servings are tiny and pricing needs to be reviewed (hint: overpriced, average quality food and poor value). Suggested to management they need to seriously take into account their competition, product quality, pricing and reputation as this one is bound for failure if something is not done quickly.

We went with a group of friends and looked forward to the buffet but low and behold, No Buffet! Their excuse was that they had recently just opened. Poor excuse if you ask me.

So we ordered from the menu. Entrees were reasonably portioned and quite nice. However, don't expect great value when you order your mains. I ordered Teriyaki Chicken which cost $15.50 and all I got on my large square plate was a tiny salad with dressing on one corner, 4 half cut string beans and small chick egg like potatoes and 2 pieces of average sized breast fillet chicken. I've had more for even less at other venues!

No Rice appears to be accompanied with their main dishes. A few others ordered the Teriyaki Beef with the same side portions above but with 2 small beef pieces instead. They didn’t offer any meat udon, so ordered the plain udon which was salty and very boring.

We also ordered a $48 Sushi and Sashimi plate and were amazed at how much sushi and sashimi was on there! There was probably enough on the huge plate to comfortably feed 1 person!

As you can imagine, we all left the place still hungry. If they continue to serve out food like this for the amount of money they’re charging, then I don’t see them surviving for very long. We're definitely not coming back to this restaurant that's for sure.
