Second visit to this restaurant and another great experience. So nice to sit back and enjoy whatever local produce is served to you! Service was excellent, the place is spotless and food excellent and varied. Only complaint is when you have the 'italian table' menu (you should) there is too much food although the gorgeous sorbets are a nice way to finish!

Divine!

Might I firstly say this; my partner and myself are quite picky eaters. We had no problems at 42 Bannerman. Even after advising a waitress of an allery, the chef came over to check direct with us that what he was going to serve us in the 'Italian Table' was fine.

The complimentary breads and Grissini sticks are addictive. I want to take some of those Grissini sticks home!

As said above, we chose the 'Italian Table' set menu for $59 each. This included an Antipasto, Pasta and Main.

The Antipasto included fresh focassia, deepfried cauliflower (tastes extremely better than it sounds!), salami, capcicum, and cheese from memory (we asked for olives to be removed due to allergy). What a great way to start the meal! Loved the salami, cheese and focassia mix and oh the arrancini balls were to die for! I had previously thought I didn't like them, but these were obviously fresh and sooo creamy and yummy!

The pasta we got was a tagliatella (sp?) with mascarpone from memory. Yum.

The main was spatchcock (baby chicken) - Yum!

And the absolute perfection to end with was fresh crunchy profiteroles filled with gelato and drizzles with choc sauce! I didn't like profiteroles until I tasted these!

The 'Italian Table' is the perfect way to dine. My partner and myself served what we liked from the 'share' platters and both walked out feeling full, but not sick as the meal was nicely spread out.

Have already been back since, and will be back again!

This was my first and last visit, the blackboard menu had five pasta and mains listed, no entrees had to share a pasta for an entree. For the mains we had bream, it was served on a bed of ice cold potato wedges no greens, the lamb two generous portions which were so tough you had to use a chain saw to cut it, the what appeared to be bukchoy was over cooked to the point of been slimy. If I was to rate the food out of 10, it would get 1. I will never recommend this place to anyone.

I have eaten at 42 Bannerman several times & will be returning again. Benig italian myself I love the ever changing menu and generous servings - the "italian table" is well worth the $59 per person. Pina makes you feel welcomed & if you're unsure what to order, the waiters are more than happy to pick the pkates for you. Dining at 42 Bannerman is like being part of a big italian family where children are welcomed & the food is abundance. Definitely worth trying.

42 Bannerman is a hidden gem in Glenhaven. Its a family owned business, and the staff welcome you like family. They take the time to ensure you have a delightful dining experience, all made with fresh local farmers produce. The menu changes every fortnight so you'll never be bored. Gorgeous fresh Italian food. I had the antipasto with creamy baked ricotta, delicious stuffed zucchini, and melt in your mouth meat arancini, along with crisp olives, green beans, and fluffy herb focaccia.

The tagliatelle with lamb ragu followed, talk about tender! My mains was a juicy beef pizzaiola with delicious stuffed crumbed zucchini, and a mixed leaf salad. Dessert was worth ordering, cruchy profiteroles filled with almond gelato, topped with hot chocolate sauce, scrumptious!

I have just returned from dinner at 42 Bannerman and I feel like I was in a totally different place than the previous reviews! Please tell me how focaccia bread, deep fried cauliflower, deep fried potato, salami, caramelised onion with a dash of feta makes an antipasto plate worth $12 a head! Oops I forgot the kalamatta olives the only fresh ingredient on the plate! The duck main was tough and the pasta dishes not worth mentioning!

This place Prides itself on fresh ingredients but there seemed to be very little that was fresh. All this was mentioned to the waitress who did pass it on but we received no response. This is the only poor review I have ever written but as a local I feel the need to share with my neighbours my extreme disappointment.

Having eaten there ourselves and been very impressed by the place we knew it would be an ideal venue for my son's 21st birthday party. The dinner was a tremendous success - my son described the food as "the best he had ever eaten" and the service as "outstanding". The staff went all out to make it a special occasion for him - thank you Sandra for all your work. We'll be back again - very soon.

This is my favorite restaurant! I chose to have a large party here for my birthday, and they really outdid themselves. The food and service were excellent - they took very good care of our guests with dietary requirements, and every was stuffed. Everyone commented how delicious and fresh the pasta, gelato and olives were...but we are regulars so we already knew that :)

We recently held my husbands birthday party at 42 Bannerman and it was a perfect night! The food is homestyle and plentiful and the service is great. Would highly recommend this wonderful restaurant to anyone wanting an authentic Italian experience and of course fabulous food and wine. Can't wait to go back.
