Very ordinary food. Only three of us drank wine yet five were charged for corkage. The first bottle which was sparkling, I opened myself. When we required the second bottle to be opened I had to tap the top of the bottle because the waiter didn't speak English. To his credit he promptly returned with a cork screw and handed it to me? Finally don't order the halumi cheese ($18) because you will be very, very disapointed.
The food was fantastic, not expensive, the pricing is reasonable. The atmosphere is relaxing and the food very fresh. The service is great. I would definitely go back again.
The food was about average nothing fantastic but at the same time nothing bad. Service was a bit overwhelming. The evening was, perhaps, a bit lacking in hospitality.
I was really looking forward to trying this restaurant. The lady who served us was very pushy with our ordering, telling us what to order and what not to order, and managing to sneak a bowl of tabouli salad in our order.
We arrived at about 7.45pm and a belly dancer came around 8.30pm and we were forced to wait the half an hour until she finished her routine for our main meals. The dancing and music did create a nice atmosphere but she too was perhaps a little pushy in trying to force people to dance who clearly just wanted to eat their dinner. Luckily my partner and I were hidden around a corner and she seemed to forget about us.
Our main meals when they finally arrived were average, nothing bad but nothing so good as to match is price. Getting someone's eye for the bill managed to be a 15 minute task, having in the end to walk up to a staff member to ask for it.
Not the best dining experience I've had in Crows Nest, but it was not all that bad. Just a case of high expectations perhaps.
We went here for a work Christmas lunch and the food was fantastic and certainly abundant. It was a good find and I will certainly be back here again. For large groups, consider a banquet so you get to try everything and even the biggest eaters will leave more than satisfied.
Go easy on the garlic sauce with the kebabs though as you will taste it for days ! Service was very helpful and attentive, admittedly we were one of the few tables. .. pity they don't have baclava as a dessert though.
Have eaten at 3 Gypsies several times and have never been disappointed. Great food with a real home cooked flavour and friendly attentive service. Will continue to come to this restaurant and recommend to friends.
As there are not too many lebanese restaurants on the North Shore this was a great find. Tucked away off Willoughby Road down the quieter end didn't matter one bit to us. Our hostess was delightful, very helpful and pleasant. The food was great, we had 2 platters between 3 of us and that was plentiful enough. The dips were fantastic (not oily), and the kebabs absolutely delish! just realise that it is garlic sauce on the side so take it easy. We will definitely be going back.
Reading the other reviews I was hesitant to get my Saturday night takeaway from here. Digging deeper, I found that most positive reviewers had done lots of reviews, most bagging the place had done few reviews.
To begin, the toilet is not owned by the restaurant, it seems to be shared with everyone in the centre. It is not good, but you can hardly blame 3 Gypsies if they have no control over it!
I ordered 2 tasting plates to take away @ $40 total, a small discount of the menu price. I agree it is not outstanding value, but I am a cheapskate with take away! The food was great, with the garlic sauce on the meat an absolute standout. For those complaining that the food was oily, um, go and eat at other Lebanese places, your dips will have some oil on top. The food is not overly oily! There was too much bread supplied.
Food was great, service was exemplary. Value ok. I will be back.
Superb food and plenty of it. The service is fantasic and a belly dancer comes out to entertain the guests. I recommend the set menu if there is a group of people.
Went here last night with my girlfriend and was disappointed with the experience. First of all the cutlery was back to front (note to 3 Gypsies, here in Australia we eat with our fork in our left and knife in our right).
We didn't find the food that appealing nor value for money, $80+ for entrees, a few kebab sticks, a couple of (small) lamb sausages, 2 dips and a plate of tabouli did not represent good value to us.
The service could have been better. Whilst we were asked regularly if our meals were ok, not once were our water and wine glasses filled. At the end of our meals we had to ask the waitress to order coffees etc and again for our bill. My girlfriend was sick all that night, I'd like to think it wasn't a reflection on the poor food. I don't think we will be returning in a hurry.
