Winner of TrueLocal Business Awards - Best Restaurant in Parramatta
Overview
With a relaxed and casual feel during the day, and a warm ambience in the evening, Restaurant 3one7 is a much needed dining experience for the Parramatta area.
Restaurant 3one7 has a minimalist, open plan atmosphere, characterised by striking colours, modern decor, ambient lighting, attractive forms and styles, and an alfresco courtyard.
This funky new venue offers patrons a Mediterranean inspired and modern Australian dining experience at suburban prices. Choose from a selection of fresh local seafood, juicy steaks, chicken and veal dishes and pasta. Leaving room for 3one7's continental style cakes and gourmet coffees is a must. Restaurant 3one7 is in a great location in the heart of Parramatta's 'Eat Street'.
Having read the reviews of this and other restaurants in Parramatta, we decided on '317' for a few reasons: Location, cost, availability, opening times and of course food quality.
Booking was not a problem and we were called on our mobile to confirm the reservation. On first sight I thought '317' looked a more like a cafe rather than a restaurant, especially in the front seating area. Our party of seven was accommodated at the rear, where the seating is more comfortable, although there is still very little atmosphere.
Initially we were greeted by a fabulous, bubbly young server who seated us and helped get everyone settled. She was, unfortunately, not going to be our waitress for the duration, as I believe she was serving the customers outside. Instead, we had a grumpy looking young lady who, in my opinion, should not work in the customer service industry, especially as it appeared, that she did not enjoy the customers! Even though she 'did her job' it was with little enthusiasm and warmth.
The meals themselves were superb and made up for the lack of service. They were very well presented, served quickly and with more than adequate portion sizes even for the kids. I was so full that I did not order dessert, even though I am a dessert girl! The value for money was excellent and it helped that we bought our own wine and had some lunchtime specials, but we did have coffee and offered a tip.
I would return to '317' but I think it will be a lunchtime again.
Service was great, food came out quickly and service was very friendly. Also large portions of food and prices similar to other restaurants in the area. Would go there again.
I will never go here again. The food was good, but it was completely overshadowed by the management. We made a booking a few weeks in advance, and the manager rang 5 times on the day to confirm our booking number of 8. He then threatened that if we didn't have 8 people show up he would charge us for 8 people anyway. Based on what price buddy? Then when we arrived at 7pm, on time, we were told we had to vacate the table by 8pm as they'd booked another group onto the table at 8pm!
Fast forward, we ordered promptly when asked, enjoyed prompt entrees, but at 7.45pm the waitress told us they were "making our mains as fast as possible, but were we aware we needed to leave by 8pm?" 7.55pm our mains arrived at the table and the wait staff sweated on us to leave. No option for dessert, the whole experience was ridiculous.
I felt sorry for the group booked at 8; they probably had to be out by 9! It was over crowded, they were being greedy trying to shove too many people in, trying to turn over too many tables. Why would we go here when there are 100's of other restaurants in Sydney?
Love this place, been going here for a couple years now. Food is great although last time I went and had the fettucini napoletana, the sauce tasted different so I don't know, maybe new chef? Great restaurant, I reccommend it.
I've only been there once and haven't gone back since. Service was below average. I was disappointed with my $22 pizza, had little topping on it tasted bland.
I have mixed views on this restaurant, on one hand the risotto was delicious but the pizza for $22 tasted like a fast food pizza..actually the fast food pizza probably put more toppings on their pizzas!
I ordered a supreme pizza and was very disappointed, I probably only got one piece op topping in each bite, rather than a good mix as per a good gourmet pizza... Also its a bit on the pricey side...I probably will skip this restaurant next time as they have plenty of other good Italian Rest in parra that has better food and value for money.
