I've been here four times and I won't be back, ever. I found the chicken caesar salad oily and uninspired although the sandwiches are okay. Their baked goods are of superior quality. The low scores I have provided come from an incident I had at this cafe. A coffee purchased from there was bitter and unpalatable, and caused a very mild alkaline burning sensation in the back of my throat. Having worked for several years as a cook at a well-known Glebe internet cafe, I recognised this as being the result incomplete cleaning of the coffee machine's internal systems with alkaline (caustic) cleaner.
After I took the coffee back, something I'd never had to do before, I explained what I'd tasted and politely asked for a re-make. The barista advised me that there was nothing wrong with the coffee and made a new one with ill grace. I was horrified to discover, after drinking the new coffee, a cockroach in the leftover foam inside the mouthpiece of the cover. Not a big one, only about 1.5-2cm long, but still a cockroach. The remains of the second coffee were returned and the problem explained as civilly as possible. The Barista then coldly stalked over to the register, slapped three dollars down on the bench in front of me, and cut me dead without even an attempt to apologise.
This experience is 100% true, and witnessed by several colleagues so I'm not scared to commit it to posterity. The front of house at Two Spoons I found to be peremptory, unwelcoming and extremely unforgiving of even the slightest criticism. Basically, the service at Two Spoons is the worst I've ever had, anywhere, full stop. I believe that word needs to get out about this place and I would be willing to testify in court about the cucaracha-cino. Consider yourself warned. I don't trust the place and I'd never go back, ever.
Two Spoons is a great place for excellent food and quick service as well, there is such a thing as "quality and quantity"! and that is at this cafe Two Spoons. I really enjoyed the range of fabulous sandwiches they have to offer as well as the hot foods as well and they have this lovely courtyard out the back which I enjoyed as well.
