Birthday celebration booking was made weeks in advance, arrived early for 8:30 pm booking and was advised that the table was not ready and was seated at the bar, no-one advised when table would be ready, not seated until 9:20 pm and table still not ready, waitress was starting to prepare table and asked us what the problem was ie. why we were late! she wanted to know if we would like drinks, I said no we have had drinks and could we have the menus, as the kitchen closes at 10:30.

She said yes it does but it was only 9:00 (actually 9:25 pm) and had an attitude problem. When ordering I didn't have an entree and waitress said rudely "I thought you were hungry" - partner ordered oysters and waitress wanted to know if I had one as I was hungry! (because I had the audacity to request the menu) the meal was luke warm and disappointing. Coffees arrived via a different waitress who apologised for the delay, finished coffees and waitress with attitude finally gave us the petit fours and asked if we wanted another coffee?

Another waiter dropped a wine glass, the stem of the glass shattered and was by our feet but they didn't bother to pick it up. Partner was very disappointed with meal and service.

Went to this restaurant for my mother's birthday over the weekend and came out totally disappointed. The staff had major attitude, our food came out just warm and it was overpriced; our pre dinner drinks took 15mins, then they did not remember all the drinks and it seem like we had put them out by asking for the other drinks that they forgot. I would not be recommending it to anyone.

The degustation with wine is expensive but not bad. Off the menu the food is overpriced I don't rate this place as world standard and apart from being "seen" (Its proximity to Channel 10 studios is probably a drawcard for some) you are paying for the location.......not always the view.

Makes me wonder sometimes when we compare to the rest of the world how lucky we are to have a place like this in our city. The degustation with wine is a marvel and we were looked after very well all night. Certainly highly recommend.

Poor service, we waited 15 minutes for pre-dinner drink even though we were the only ones there, service continued to be slow and not reflective of prices we were paying. Food was good although very overpriced. Whole night poor value.

My order of seafood was average, certainly not worth the price that was asked. It was over cooked and the flavours boring, I expected a lot more. However, my friends enjoyed the crayfish and curry.

Unfortunately our waitress was rather rude which made us feel uncomfortable. Eventually I asked that she be replaced with someone who actually knew how to do their job and didn’t think the world owed them a living.

The sommelier recommended some great wines. Last but not least, the restaurant is over rated. If you know anything about fish, you are better off going to the fish markets and having a cook up at home…

What a pleasure to be dining in such a great space. The interior design makes this eating experience all the more special. The food was sensational, the service perfect and the ambience just right. Sooo keen to go back. Great for group bookings too.

Went to this restaurant over the weekend and came out totally disappointed and will not be recommending it to anyone.

The service was appalling. We booked our dinner for 6.30 but did not get our desserts until 11 pm. Our main waiter was inattentive, rude and condescending. We had to wait 40 minutrs to get the dessert menus after the mains dishes were cleared (after several requested to different waiters). We were not given any explanations on the delay.

When we complained about this, the waiter had the cheek to ask us to define what we considered to be "an extensive waiting period"! His excuse was that it was a busy night and they ran out of dessert menus. He did not provide any genuine appologies and was argumentative in accepting fault.

The food was good but was to be expected being a one chef's hat and for the price charged. Overall, I can say that I can get better services at fast food joints than at this restaurant. For the price charged, there are many other places that are a lot better without having to deal with attitudes of a waiter.

Been to this restaurant on a number of occasions and by far this was the worst experience after a number of pleasant visits. Service: I would name our main server but she didn't introduce herself, albeit we had 4. The main server was rude, condescending and inattentive. When requests were made (such as a fresh wine glass) we were met with a snarl and made to wait 10 minutes.

When she asked how our meal was and got a less than enthusiastic response, she ignored us and walked away. I had to ask for the last glass of wine from the bottle we had already purchased. We waited 25 minutes at the end of a very unimpressive meal, to settle our bill.

Food: I know this is a seafood restaurant, but would it inconvenience the kitchen staff greatly to have a non seafood starter which isn't vegetarian (or containing the overused goat's cheese). Onto the mains - I had the Mulloway which was pleasant if you excuse the black pudding (which in cunningly disguised by its French? name on the menu). My friend had the Tasmanian crayfish consommé with Souchong scented flathead, Poached scampi and vongole which was delicious but didn't need the three large bones located in the flathead, or the pebble like grit from the vongole.

It may have also been helpful to have a spoon for the consomme, and a side plate for the shared salad and other sides. Of course, this request met with another snarl. Nothing really wintery for dessert, despite the time of year however this was the best course (go figure given the restaurant is known primarily for the seafood). Having said that, they could ditch the prunes from the chocolate dish (they will never be cool) and the rhubarb isn't really required for the vanilla tart. Let’s not forget the bitter grapefruit, bitter on bitter.

The toilets were dirty and the frosted doors are just tired, move on. There were also dirty glasses and bottles just left around the cold preparation area, thank goodness I wasn't sitting next to that. The best service I got was a fellow customer opening the door for me as I left, which some might call an irony.

Went to Flying Fish last night for a work function. What a fantastic experience! The service was friendly and knowledgeable, the food was amazing and the space was beautiful. Highly recommend for a decadent fine dining experience.
