Having to queue at the counter to simply order and pay for a cup of coffee or a meal and take a number makes the Parisian cafe seating arrangement seem breathtakingly pretentious. Clueless staff wandering aimlessly looking for a number on your table provide no real service, but you'll pay Hastings St prices. Be prepared to go looking for salt and pepper and sugar sachets. Average cafe fare, nothing real special. Did they really expect a tip?

Superb location on Hastings Street, with a European feel that makes it a great place to chill and survey the people passing by. Went for breakfast during peak season and although it took a while to order, the food arrived quickly, was well presented and tasted great. Prices relative to the area, but worth a visit.
