Service was bad. I thought they had lost our order! Having spent time in Thailand & eaten at the excellent Chang Mai on the Gold Coast recently we found the food very disappointing. Westernised with little authenticity. Loved the atmosphere & decor but everything else needs improving.

We dined here with an un-booked group of ten and these guys accommodated us with no problem.

We had no problem with ordering food or drinks, and the waiting time was not long considering the size of our group and the amount of food they had to prepare.

The food was average and not in any negative sense, just the normal run of the mill thai food. Servings were a little on the small size, however, they accommodated our request for more dishes mid way through our dining without any problems whatsoever.

Dining at Krung Thep was a pleasant experience, leaving us satisfied and with what we had. It is by no means a fine dining thai restaurant, but suits the location and the purpose it is there for.

Do yourself a favour. Don't be taken in by the cosy Thai ambience overlooking balmy Gympie Terrace. Unless you want to wait 45 mins. for starters and then another 45 mins. before the mains arrive (each dish at approx. 10 minute intervals). Even if the food was absolutely top notch, such time frames are unconscionable. Unfortunately the food is of the "curry paste, coconut milk, meat - hey presto" variety - insipid and very ordinary. We had fellow dinners queuing at the counter to pay and get out before breakfast time rolled around.

Without a doubt, great food, great location, and pretty reasonably priced for a prime Noosaville location. However, my experience of the service was extremely poor, both having eaten in and in ordering takeaway. Most recently in ordering takeaway (and having run 1 hour ahead to allow plenty of time on a busy public holiday weekend). I went to collect and waited to be served but was ignored.

Several staff saw me and even walked past me, but none caught my eye or acknowledged me. To make matters worse, a large group came in looking for a table, pushed past me and the staff served them first! Not even a lovely massaman beef makes up for how disappointing the experience was and not good enough for a $40 takeaway for 2 people.

Beware! if you eat here, you will be disappointed every time you eat at another thai restaurant, this is the absolute best thai I've ever had. Curry's are epic, and the spicy chicken is amazing. Serving sizes are spot on, and the prices are reasonable.

Very westernised Thai, nothing special. Like all in this strip, it's a lovely setting. Disappointing.

We've come back to this restaurant many times over the last 4 years and it never disappoints. Great ambience and fairly decent Thai.

I have to agree with the previous reviews, this is one of the best Thai restaurants I have been to. The service is outstanding, friendly, courteous, well-mannered and makes this restaurant a level above the others. The vegetarian pad thai ($12.90) was great and serving sizes are huge. Lunch time menu is a little cheaper than dinner but there are no differences in the portion sizes. There is a beautiful view of the river and the decor is authentic and relaxing. Would not go past this restaurant when I'm back in noosaville.

Excellent Thai food and ambience. Friendly staff. We visited a few years ago on a trip to Noosa and just had to eat here again. You do need to book though as it is a very popular restaurant. We started with lovely, crisp Prawn Parcels and Fish Cakes (unfortunately a little rubbery). For mains we had the excellent Roasted Duck Curry and Seafood in Hot Basil, both were delicious. The portions are very generous too.
