This really is a superb venue! The lamb tajine is to die for, everything was great. Such a great find for us as we are locals looking for new interesting food. Very busy too so make sure you book. We'll be back!

A pleasant venue that is chef owned and operated, Coral Tajine is hidden half way down a quiet side street, just off Sixth Avenue at Cotton Tree. We dined here last June and again a few weeks ago and even though I felt the food was better the first time, we still enjoyed it. My partner ordered the mixed Seafood tagine whilst I couldn't wait to enjoy the same one from last time with Lamb and prunes, topped with hard-boiled egg (sounds weird but really isn't).
However, the meat seemed quite dry this time, but the flavours and aromas of the spiced sauce saved it. We went to order the Chicken B'stilla for dessert (I will explain!) but the last one had been snaffled by the next table for their entree. Last time we too had enjoyed this as a starter, the crisp pastry encasing a sweet mixture of shredded chicken meat scented with orange blossom water, the two rolls dusted with icing sugar.
Not having a really sweet tooth I decided then and there I would order this as a dessert on my next visit. We will obviously return again to Coral Tagine, this time reserving our B'Stilla at the outset!
Edit: We have returned on another two occasions, this time asking for the Chicken B'Stilla as soon as we were seated and the waitress advised the chef had made one serving (!) and it was ours. We ordered the Seafood tagine again, however, this time the Seafood had been overcooked and the squid was tough and rubbery and fish virtually disintegrated when you touched it.
The other main ordered was 'Cous Cous Royale' which consisted of cous cous topped with some vegetables, chicken meat, spicy sausage and lamb. A good introduction to someone who wishes to try a number of different flavours. A side dish of harissa paste was delicious too.
The Chicken B'Stilla this time presented as one pastry 'snail' and was a delicious 'dessert' for us as it was fragrant with orange blossom water and cinnamon which offset the savoury shredded chicken meat. I overheard another table wanting to order it for an entree and they were told it had sold out. This makes me wonder if the B'Stilla is only made when there is left-over cooked chicken from the night before as I cannot understand why a menu item would be so regaularly 'unavailable'?
On the next visit we had already decided not to order the Seafood so re-ordered the Cous Cous Royale and the Lamb Tagine (as above). Both were very enjoyable and infact the lamb was more tender overall than they last time we ordered it, although the pieces ranged from fork-tender through to very chewy in the same dish.
Serving size seemed smaller than previous visits although prices remained constant. The Chicken B'Stilla was not available on this visit (and we dined very early that night). My dining partner probably likes Coral Tajine more than I. I certainly appreciate what the owner-operators are trying to achieve and this is not easy for a young couple.
However, possibly it would be worth getting someone in on a casual basis to ensure that all menu items are readily available rather than patrons being advised "to ring and ask if we have it (the Chicken B'Stilla) before you come". The venue is intimate, clean and cosy, service ranges from intelligent and informed to backpacker type 'hit and miss'. I hope more people enjoy this restaurant as it is a tough business to be in and I believe their heart is in the right place and they deserve to do well.
PS There is a 'Tapas' style Morrocan Menu on Sundays for 2 people for $50 total (choices from the regular menu). Make sure you ask about the availability of the Chicken B'Stilla though!

This was a really nice restaurant. We had the banquet in our group and it was quite reasonably priced. The food was absolutely delicious. I recommend it!!
